I believe that we are in the process of applying the 3rd coating of creosote, have invested in buoyancy aids and are planning to depth charge the Sainsbury's in Winterstoke Road.

Far better to discuss the future. But you can learn a lot from the past. And may avoid repeating it.

I have read and reflected on the judge's decision and on 'face value' there seems little grounds to win this appeal. However: what do I know ? and why would NH waste all our money on yet another appeal ?. Maybe a panel of judge's can give a more informed judgement than a lone person. Or it could be the case this panel may suggest Sainsbury's pay out some compensation based on a crafty release clause.
I do believe someone can make an appeal on this judgement later this year ( panel of judges ) . This means than it is likely to drag into 2016. My hope of course is that bad publicity and more focus on Sainsbury's in the next year or so could result in a settlement. This could give us enough money to start part of the UWE. However: the reality is that we will lose and make ourselves look desperate and stubborn.

I fear the only hope is that Sainsbury's will get nervous about the Appeal going in our favour and so make a more attractive if offer of compensation. I just can't see the Appeal court overturning the original Judgement and awarding us the full amount of the contract.

Not sure how long this can go on for.Appeals then more appeals against other appeals. There must come a time when the Mem will have to brought into the 21st century and it's done bit by bit when we can afford it beginning with replacing the world's only marquee stand which is an embarrassment to-gether with the awful visiting supporters facilities.Don't get me wrong, I would love to see the UWE come to fruition but there must come a time when the Mem can no longer be left to decay.

I suppose if we go 2-0 down in the next court case. It would be very unwise to spend another large six figure sum on an appeal which both a lone judge and panel have sided with Sainsbury's. In regards to the memorial stadium it is the same old issue for nearly 20 years. We have had the plans which have been passed by Bristol City council but lack the funds.
The only chance we have is to apply for a community trust grant to build a medium size stand in the tent end. The club keeps telling us it is fruitless to upgrade the MEM because of it's wider vision of a new stadium. But tell that to the young pirates who stand week by week in a section of the ground were the views are awful and it is near impossible to see play in the south goalmouth.
It is unreal that in nearly 20 years we have had countless ground projects/plans/visions but the ground is the same as in the late 1990's...

How long until The Uwe planning application has to be renewed? South Gloucestershire council will be very flexible if it's getting a brand new stadium to show off. The real issue is how long will the UWE wait ?.

The contract WAS watertight but dry rot had set in and no one had noticed.

Best of luck getting planning permission after the greens take over next year after the Mayor elections

True, planning permission was allowed to lapse on the Mem and there's no gaurantee the club would now get pp for re-developing the Mem. As far as Appeals if we lose this one next year I guess that's game over but even if we win you could see Sainsbury's taking this to the final Appeal which I assume could take another year or two?
