Interestingly (or not!), when we lost at Braintree last year there were lots of boos and moaning as the team went off the pitch and very few supporters applauding the players.
This time round, we still lost but there was a definite appreciation of the players at the end of the game and a few rounds of "Darrell Clarke's Barmy Army".

A fair few moans from the experts on the Rovers 'Appreciation' page on facebook, saying DC made a schoolboy error playing Tyler Lyttle.
They don't seem to appreciate that everyone has to make their debut sometime, many others have made their debut at a younger age, the lad is well thought of at the club, he obviously has bags of confidence, he will have had a good upbringing in the game and been around professional football all his life, and DC shows confidence in his young players.

Yes, there was a marked difference in the reaction of the fans at the end of this game to some of the ones we lost last year, James Clarke looked pleasantly surprised, perhaps most of the moaners stayed at home....long may that continue

I see comments like that as being purely immature, considering who we were playing. I'm pleased DC played him, how else is the young man supposed to learn.

There's a bit of a chasm between losing away at unbeaten Leyton Orient in the league and losing at Braintree in non-league, but I agree the support throughout the game and reaction at the end was encouraging yesterday. These players must know that we like them, which I don't think they did a year ago!

Absolutely, Latvian.
I was at Braintree, not there yesterday.
At Braintree, it appeared like some of the players gave up...inexcusable.
Yesterday, seemed quite the opposite.
I was stood on the side v Braintree and one GasHead shouted something quite disgusting at Martin (winger on loan), he must've heard it as was only a few yards away.
If that happened now, some other Gas I'm sure would intervene.
So, the nature of the defeat yesterday was incomparable to last season, even though there were other similarities..

I was at Braintree, and for me, that was the lowest point in all my years of watching Rovers. To be pretty much dismantled by a part time side, playing in the same ( non ) league as us, was as bad as it got. Listening to their fans singing, " A pub team from Essex, we know what we are. ", didn`t help either. To lose to Orient, is a vastly different occurrence.

I hear fighting at trashon g today city fans against each other Standard. I think that if they are not doing well by Xmas then we will see the usual scenes of ugliness. I'll never forget seeing a spit covered Joe Jordan, at Twerton. That was awful and something I will never forget. However low we have been, we have never resorted to that kind of base behaviour. We both have our fair share of idiots but the levels they will stoop to make sure that I would never stray to watch any games at that place and yet Dad used to take us to both teams home games.

The worst threads on the forum are the ones where the original poster makes no real poiny except to criticise other posters.
No moans re the players or DC for me, 3 wins from 5 is a great return.

Awwww, I quite like lp gas op. Its an irony in itself where (tongue in cheek) the moan is about lack of moaning! I guess I have that kind of humour..

I've no issue with him at all, I just don't like threads like this. Another example was the one the other week where someone started a thread called "let's talk about football" or something and the OP was just saying no-one talks about football on here, they just board bash.

Apologies if you mis read my motives, I never meant to imply you had issue with lp gas.....just the op. Which, in itself I feel is a valid point.....most times we were defeated, there is a tirade of abuse and/or moaning. The op is using observational irony (I think!) by using a tone to suggest a moan about a lack of moan! As for the other post, I remember something like that and you're right. As things go, I have all but forgotten that thread! Sorry if it sticks with you, dag as respect your opinion.

These threads really are rather pointless.
People get criticised when they moan (and all Rovers fans are more than justified if they moan considering the last few years), and yet when there is no moaning people get criticised for not moaning!
I'm quite happy with our start back in the league.

Nearly 6.30 and not a moan yet Are you not confusing moaning with opinion ?
