most promoted teams are half way or below so the bookies just play the percentages

Bookies prices are decided by WOM (weight of money). If our strikers are 50/1 it's because no-one is backing them. Similarly with title favourites, Portsmouth will always be short odds as they have more supporters hence more people bet on them. Simples.

I had a couple of quid on Ellis at 66/1 (each way, top 2). I think it was well worth a punt, the main problem being whether he will be in League Two all season.

A hat trick last night for Taylor - Top scorer chance? It seems a fair few of our fans feel he will be sold in January. I can't see it myself. I think he is only just coming to grips with league football and will stay, at least until the end of the season. I was a bit shocked that only 2 of our squad are contracted past this season.

Well unless someone acts quickly we'll get nothing from the transfer if he goes in the summer as his contract is at an end, so either we get him to sign an extended contract or we sell him in January ....rumour is that Reading have been watching him.

I can see that teams will be looking for proven strikers, but I'm with KP that most are likely to think he is currently still unproven and liable to wait until post-January, when I'm guessing that they won't have to pay only offer the prospect of a better contract than BRFC

Well unless someone acts quickly we'll get nothing from the transfer if he goes in the summer as his contract is at an end, so either we get him to sign an extended contract or we sell him in January ....rumour is that Reading have been watching him. I have had a few tell me that he is being watched but I take a lot with a huge pinch of salt. Unfortunately I was taken in by a couple of such people and so I don't just repeat what I am told, not until I have done some research. I am more surprised that he is not one of the contracted players as I have always thought him to be DC's favourite and, as such, would have had terms offered. I've gone from Luke warm on Taylor to now being worried he could go. I do think it would may be in Taylor's favour to see the season out with us but then, I would say that. I guess it is now down to DC and NH to discuss what terms they are prepared to offer. This has always been the biggest problem at Rovers and many other, smaller clubs. We have had to sell our best players and I can't blame them for wanting to better themselves to be honest. Lets hope that something can be sorted, to keep him with us & at least to seasons end before he does go, if he does
