The team that finished the Playoff Final on the park right to left...
Taylor: In and out of the side this season, got an assist away at Luton that may sway DC into playing him on Saturday.
McChrystal: Currently injured, questions as to if the current formation will suit him.
Lockyer: Played at rightback in the Playoff Final and has switched to centreback. Looks solid in a 5-3-2.
Monkhouse: Joined Grimsby at the end of his contract, currently their joint top scorer with 3.
Lines: Signed in the summer and has captained Rovers in 3 out of 4 matches.
Brown: Coming into form after missing some of pre-season with injury.
Balanta: Joined Carlisle at the end of his contract, not ripping up trees by all accounts.
Blissett: Yet to feature this season, shipped out to Tranmere on loan.
Parkes: Played every match this season, growing in stature.
(Not in photo)
Mansell: Yet to play this season due to injury, may find a battle on his hands to get his place back.
Mildenhall: Has been told he is no longer the clubs number one after playing the first two games. Rovers haven't conceded since.
(Players who started but were substituted)
Puddy: Yet to play this season due to injury, will be interesting to see if he can reclaim his starting place.
Gosling: Played well against Birmingham in his only appearance thus far. May have slipped behind Montano and Monakana.
Harrison: Proving himself to be a key player for Rovers, two goals this season.
It's interesting and a little bit sad that the team is breaking up a little. Sure it's evolution but not revolution but only when you break it down like that you see how much has changed in so few months.

Good post. I do wonder if the true evolution is in a developing manager. At Luton all the players, apart from Clark from Woking, were in the squad from last season. The tactics and confidence / self belief were the differences. If we had played like that Las season we would have torn teams apart. I had doubts about Clark, based upon the evidence I have witnessed, really glad to be proved utterly wrong

Looks like normal evolutionary change to me. The like of Yeovil and Cheltenham have had a big turnover in personnel.

I'm uncertain whether it's revolution or evolution, but the point is that we seem to be on the move, and in an upward direction too. On reflection I think that it's more of an evolution, but things are happening so rapidly that it may soon become a revolution. One things for certain though, it ain't dull at the moment.

What is interesting is the two players who missed out on appearances at Wembley from the bench (Leadbitter & Ollie Clarke) have arguably been our two best players this season.

Interesting post. Only 5 of the Wembley starters started at Luton for a variey of reasons, yet the team has a familiar look about it. Lockyer, Parkes, Brown, Lines and Harrison started. Puddy, McChrystal, Gosling, Mansell, Monkhouse, Taylor didn't.

Good post and I agree, Chewie.
Interesting it's taking before the transfer window closes to disband a successful combination.
Full credit to DC.
Nature and natural selection will see comings and goings in any squad, but it's a gentle reminder to us fans someone isn't going to let us rest on laurels and the set up is a living, breathing organism..

I call it progress,in another thread I mentioned that going up a division Rovers needed to get some better quality players, some on here disagreed but it seems that DC thought the same. DC said after Wembley that he wanted to add bring 4 or 5 quality players in,thats what you have to do to progress, last years team just scraped out of the conference we needed change. I hope this keeper and the new centre half keep up the good work, although I liked Mildenhall he was on the decline,Puddy is not good enough,Mcrystal had to be replaced,Blissett nowhere near good enough. I hope that the 2 wingers prove to be good signings,in which case I think that if the keeper stays Rovers need a centre forward, another midfield player and a defender who could fit in for Brown or Parkes if they are injured / suspended. I think that with those 3 players we could do very well this season maybe play offs, although I would be happy with a top half finish.
