A shame if that's true because the Blissett we got was exactly the player he looked like he would be when he scored against us for Kidderminster. A raw player who will frustrate at least as much as he delights, but when he gets it right is unplayable. Yes he needs to be nastier, but he'll learn that.
I hope Clarke is indulging in amateur psychology, Blissett bangs in a few at Tranmere, comes back with rave reviews and gets back in our plans.

DC is honest enough to tell his players they are not up to standard ...he needs to off load a few to bring in three he actually feels will improve the squad.

The reality is we can't afford a big squad, and even if we could there is no longer a good reserve competition to play them in. When I first started watching Rovers you had one substitute on the bench, and players on the fringe of the first team played a good standard of reserve football in the Football Combination. Great for players coming back form injury, and for those not in the Manager's plans to stake there claim for a place, but we haven't had anything like that for decades.
So what do you do with players on the payroll who aren't going to get in the starting line up or on the bench? Darrell's answer seems to be to send them out on loan at a slightly lower level to play proper competitive football (whilst also reducing the wage bill a bit). I hope Blissett gets really match fit at Tranmere and bangs in a few goals for them. Don;'t know why he went there rather than Grimsby, but given a choice I think I would prefer Merseyside to Humberside

But is Conference football really that inferior to league football given where we are in the league at the moment, with virtually the same players? It's all a bit odd Blisset has never been given a chance in league football, whereas the likes of Gosling are still at the club.
