I find it strange how anyone can judge him on yesterday. He didn't actually touch the ball with his gloves until the 48th minute, and in the first half only had to clear 4 or 5 back passes.
He made one decent save which in all fairness was hit almost straight at him, but did everything he was asked to do.
Remember, he is Chesterfields third choice keeper for a reason, so we should still look around for a replacement for Mildy. But that's not to rule out Aaron per se.

I agree. Chapman did everything required yesterday, but that wasn't much.
At his size he should be taking virtually every high ball into the box, but in the first half he was rooted to his line.
His handling was good in the second half though, and I think as his confidence improves so will his command of his box.

Don't understand fanatical. He didn't touch the ball with his gloves till the second half, he made one decent save, in the second half.
It was what we required him to do, and he did it. I wouldn't say we should stop looking for an alternative keeper based on one game for a keeper who only had one save to make in the entire game. If we can't find anyone better whilst he continues in goal for us, then we should consider him, but not until.

I like he's got a name with similar syllables t Brian Parkin.
So......moving arms in unison:
Aar-on, Aaron Chapman....Aar-on, Aaron Chapman, etc.

Difficult to judge on yesterday's performance. It was reassuring to see a big pair of hands coming out to pluck crosses out of the air with ease. I sensed some hesitation, but I suppose that is to be expected for a debut after a long time out of the limelight.

and before you react --- enjoy a clean sheet and a Rovers win. Its just fun!!!!

Made 1 very good save low down. Was fine with the crosses he had to deal with. Monster kick and throw and isn't afraid to throw it out quick. Already seems better then Mildy and Puddy..
Looks good to me!

Looked pedestrian at first but very difficult to keep busy when nothing was coming his way. Very difficult to make any judgment in a game like this. He did make an outstanding save though and that would have been a goal if he didn't react so well and this was the only time he needed to do any real goalkeeping. I don't know if he has the ability needed as yet but at 6 ft 8 he is a very I losing sight to any striker

He wasn't tested enough to make a proper judgement but the thing that stood out for me was how weak his kicking was. He was struggling to reach the halfway line from goal kicks. At 6ft 8 you'd expect him to reach the other box.
It suggests to me that he isn't a natural footballer.

His distribution was the most impressive aspect to his game, obviously as he didn't have much to do. I'd much rather have a keeper that looks to throw it out as opposed to one who just lumps it at every opportunity à la Mildenhall.

Only started playing when he was 19 - pretty late for a footballer. DC must have done his research , you don't put a muppet straight into the first team away in a local derby!

Not sure he could have done much research apart from talk to the Chesterfield manager given he's only played 3 league games?

He kept a clean sheet saving the one shot that came his way. He threw and kicked the ball and it stayed on the field of play when he did so - that's a plus! I suspect he will be between the sticks for Luton and then we might have more to dissect on Tuesday night, unless they are as crap as Yeovile.
