Best goalie in the 2nd division a couple of seasons ago. Not on top of his game at present and I hope he gets sorted with a new club because he does not sound as though he will ever play for us again.

He's not poor, or old (compared with me) but I think he was exposed.
Maybe unfairly.
Clarke def let Shinnie in on Tues v brum......the Birmingham guy is awesome, and finished fairly.
Sorry, but jclarke let him get goalside and hit a shot......as soon as he received it, (shinnie) he cut inside. He done it again very soon after but chose to pin point a cross header for fell that went into Milds hands.
That's the way I saw it. Maybe some beg to differ..
Far play, Milds. Utmost respect..

I like Mildy a lot. He ain't as good as he once was though. DC said he can stay and fight for his place but I don't think he will.

Whilst he wasn't at fault for any goals we conceded Northampton's Richards could have scored an hat trick if it wasn't for his Taylor like finishing, for some reason Mildenhall's become rooted to his goal line and his distribution is also poor. Perhaps with strong centre half winning everything in the air like Northampton's he'd look OK but behind Parkes & Co he just looks a nervous wreck.

His contract runs until when?? He signed a contract back in June 2013 when Ward was in charge, it was a 2 year deal with a 1 year option, the 1 year option being based on appearances, at the time i called it a 3 year deal and was lambasted for saying such a thing, but people didn't realise that a senior keeper like Mildy was always going to trigger the clause because he was a good keeper on good wages and was never going to be dropped by the gent, especially when our number 2 keeper was Conor Gough, plus with all due respect to Mildy during the relegation season he did well and for the first part of last season he did well, and like i said whatever way you want to look at it, he was given a 3 year deal.

Darrell has made it clear he doesn't see Mildenhall as his first choice option. I think he is being fair to the player and the fans in being upfront about that. If Steve can find another club he can go, if not he could go on loan somewhere and put himself in the shop window. He must be one of the club's higher earners at the moment, so I can see why DC would want to try to offload him if he could to free up budget for a loan or permanenet signing.
BTW I thought Aaron Chapman had a very good debut. He wasn't called on much, but made one vital save, and was a big presence in our goal area. When he was warming up he could grap the cossbar without even stretching, he must be 6ft 7ins at least!

It's quite a move to drop the 'established' keeper and bring in a loan one you have not seen a huge amount of time playing. Further the key understanding between the keeper and back four needs time to build.

Good and fair management decision, time catches up with everyone and whilst he still has a bit left in the tank,DC obviously wants to push on and realises Mildys time is almost up.

Good and fair Management decision IF some of the comments made by DC were behind closed doors. "Welcome to stay and fight for a place BUT won't get many first team games" is hardly words to inspire the man to regain form and IMO are not what should be made public about a Man who has given excellent service to this club. I sometimes think the man they brought in to help Nick Higgs with his reports should give DC some tips on what to say as IMO he sometimes says things like supporters would in a pub chat and whilst this might be great for some ,for me and probably others he is our Manager and should be a step above this. The decision is definitely right ,as with the majority of decisions that DC makes in the long term and as his signings are generally also right. He is ,without doubt the Man to lead us upwards and i am sure he will learn to be a bit more diplomatic with his words as he gains experience in the "management role".

And you are one who asks for more transparency - which this is. Fair to Mildy because he has the option to stay and improve (he has struggled since his injury) or look elsewhere - while in the meantime he will not lose out financially. Fair to the supporters because we know what the score is.

Not sure we need a full investigation into every decision made by the manager, at the end of the day we all agree SM's not up to being No 1 this season, so the sooner DC can get him off our wage bill the better for all of us.

Transparency would have been explaining that a new keeper had been brought in but Mildenhall was with the club for now and may go out on loan. Imagine your boss broadcast the details of your terms of engagement to your whole office. It could be quite damaging. Transparent doesn't mean tactless.

Are you assuming that other words weren't spoken behind closed doors. Perhaps what DC has said publicly is just the bits he chooses to share ? that would be diplomacy in my book DC is the manager he is and the person to lead us because of the type of man he is and the way he handles things, those of us that believe that will accept his transparency as refreshing. As for Mildy giving us excellent service, thats almost a bit romantic at the end of the day he is a paid employee who has been year a few seasons hardly career long service, unfortunately he like many others will be a casualty of their profession as time creeps up, all we can do is thank him and wish him well. And as for the man brought in to help Nick Higgs with PR give DC tips...........No thanks

I agree with this.
I also suspect that what DC CAN'T say is that he is desperate to bring more players in but needs to free up some wages. Mildy being high-end and DC must feel he can get better value of a GK elsewhere.
Mildy been a great pro tho and would go with our best wishes and thanks

There is transparency and transparency. I feel this is far beyond what needed to be said and a more experienced Manager would have dealt with it differently. That's my opinion and I respect if others see it differently. I agree totally with the decision just not the way it was delivered. IMO all we needed to know was that Mildenhall was not injured but dropped. The way it has been done has already led people to believe that Mildy has thrown his toys out as he was not on the bench. Anyway i just believe that DC will learn to be a bit more diplomatic in being "transparent" !!
