Lets get this all out of the way ...before a ball is kicked this evening
can see it now
Rovers lose two on the trot ....DC out
Taylor misses another sitter ....bring back Bliss
Why do we concede goals to set pieces
Why does Lines not get past the first defender on his free kicks
Why play Sinclair, Lockyer, Montano out of position

It'll be even worse when we've lost the away fixtures @ Yeovil and Luton! (Harry...you forgot: Why does Mildenhall take so bluddy long to get rid of he ball? Do we practice throw-ins? Has Parkes got a right foot? Playing Lockyer out of position is doing his career no good ...................)

All we can ask tonight is that we at least go for the throats by STOPPING (or at least trying to stop) Birmingham playing the ball around.Don't want to watch us sat back in our own area with one up front and our midfield sat just in front of the back four just hoping we can hold them until about the 70th minute. Teams from higher divisions only get beaten when the lower club make it hard for them to play their natural game which is to not give them the time to pass the ball like they get in the Championship. We need to stop the over thought out tactics which might work in the Conference or should I say National League but will not work if you allow the opposition to pass the ball about at the back. Its 11 v 11 so lets concentrate on OUR game.

Yes ...we have a tough start BUT feel sure this is the best time to play Yeovil as they have a complete new side but the Scotsman is experienced and presumably has does not like previous manager rely heavily on the loan system....not really noticed Mildy's time to distribute the ball ..feel he kicks much better than Puddy...
Lockyer interesting one ...a genuine utility player or have we not found his best position...first name on DC's team sheet and young and has potential ....interesting interview on subs bench with James Clarke ...saying his best position is right back and not a central defender ! Leadbitter has pace but poor with the ball and unlike Lockyer ball watches too much needs to beef out a lot as there some worldly wise wingers like Potter on Sat in the FL

Harry,Tend to agree with you about Lockyer. Would not have allowed their winger to get the cross in for the goal as would have been concentrating. I feel if we are going to go to two wingers then we need to play two full backs who can defend therefore would play Lockyer in preference to Leadbitter. Brown needs to defend more rather than go down the wing if we play the second winger. Some have said we should play wingbacks but if we do that then we have four wingers in the squad for nothing!! As regards Mildy his kicking is slightly better than Puddy but Puddy distributes much better from his hands. Quite often saturday if Mildy had released the ball straight away our defenders could have received. Most of Mildys kicks went straight to their keeper ie gave possession away.

Agree, Leadbitter looked a lot less comfortable without Sinclair in front of him in the second half. I think he is a good player, but maybe needs to find his feet again in league football. Id definitely go with Lockyer at RB this evening. Give Montano/ AN other a bit more comfort in going forward. Was Brown fully fit at the weekend? Looked a little behind the pace.
Mildenhalls kicking isn't bad, its his decision making and time he takes on the ball. Slowing down play to then lump a long ball to our tiny forwards doesn't achieve much.

Nothing to lose, give them both barrels in a 3-5-2!

Taylor misses sitters with alarming regularity. A player who was barely adequate in the Conference is hardly going to be up to standard required for a side serious about doing anything in league 2.

It was Taylor's hard work that set up Ellis opportunity for goal. In fact, it wasn't until Taylor came on that the two up front worked well and pulled defence to create space. Taylor / Ellis look a natural pairing and caused a few problems to a Championship side. So, yea he does miss chances, but equally his work rate sets up chances for others. Much, much better tonight all round. Well done!
