Looking forward to Kaid Mohamed signing next week. Yep. The players that got us relegated last time are exactly what we need. Looking forward to the woeful, lazy, effortless poser who was only here for his payslip in that shocking end of season run in. I can barely believe he is worming his way back here.

If DC insisted on starting those players, why didn't: Locks play right back?? Leads play right wing?? Sincs partner Lines? Seems more balanced. I totally agree . I thought Leadbitter had a better game than he was credited. If anyone is worried about sinclairs stature / height - why? He leaps higher than any on the pitch and he tackles hard and well. Lockyer might as well not have been playing. I am beginning to sweat a little - is Easter going to ever produce for us. He looks pedestrian and nt very gifted. Montano - would have rather had the Gibraltan.

Do you remember how he so often started sprinting so well with the ball, often finished his run without the ball and he had neither been tackled nor passed it! Please let it not be true, he's like a Ronaldo but one bought at Eastville market

Without a club since January as far as I can see, but we are close to Cardiff.

We ended up last season a winning team, so why did we change it. We kept hearing that there was not much difference in the standard in both leagues so why did we change it?

Gosling and Ollie Clarke both available however. I couldn't bare it last season to see Sinclair starting In a wide position, it just doesn't work. Hoping DC finally realises and sticks to natural wingers from now on.

It wouldn`t work out on any day. Sinclair is not a wide midfielder; if you`re not going to play him in the centre, don`t play him at all. But I expect Clarke will. Ollie Clarke and Gosling are not league standard footballers. It will be a season of toil and disappointment, if those two feature regularly.

Lets just leave it as being a bad day at the office. I can't believe that Monakana or Montano are always as bad as they looked saturday as if they are then DC is going to look very stupid not at least trying to get Dawson,LDV or even Myrie Williams. In the first 10-15 minutes I actually thought we were going to see a good performance however I put Saturday down to negative tactics and poor selection and fully expect DC to get it right. If we get outclassed by yeovil on Saturday then I think we can be justified in worrying. Note I said outclassed not beaten as it is possible to be beaten by being unlucky or wasteful.

I didn`t think Montano looked bad. I didn`t think he looked anything. How was he supposed to show us anything, stuck out on the wing, with the tactics the team used? The astronauts on the International Space Station were more likely to get a touch of the ball, than he was. If we`re going to play with wingers, then give the wingers the ball. Pointless just hoofing it aimlessly in the direction of the Muller Road/ Ashley Down Road.

I heard that a lot too but have to disagree. Apart from the top 3 or 4 sides there is a massive difference between league 2 and the conference, at least 2 thirds of the conference is complete garbage. Northampton weren't amazing but they were far and away better than anything I saw last season. Retaining payers such as Taylor and Sinclair makes no sense if you are serious about challenging, which we obviously aren't. Hopefully DC can keep us up, preferably well clear trouble - but IMO he is manager with a lot still to prove being asked to work under difficult financial constraints while Higgs risks it all like a p*ssed up gambler.

we are a newly promoted conference side ....it makes me laugh the stick Trolls got and he got us into league one ....some people need to manage their expectations...we barely beat teams like Altrincham and Welling ...and now we are playing streetwise experienced full time clubs Mike, you our know full well that the game is very much about confidence as much as ability. Why should we not expect a team, high in confidence, should not do better ? We have been told to lower or manage our expectations for so long that we now mostly accept failure. I can't manage to allow myself to accept defeat and a very poor quality of football now. It seems that excusing poor performances is that norm now. Why can't we expect better ?

I always think a little bit too much is read into our tactics and not enough is read into the opposition approach and the mentality of the sides. Partly I think this is because of the self-aggrandising guff that top managers and pundits come out with to make it sound like they are some kind of tactical geniuses when really all they tend to do tactically amounts to positioning 1 or 2 players 5-10 yards forwards/backwards/sideways every now and again and maybe bunging an extra man up front if they are behind with 20 minutes to go. It's just that doing that with highly skilled players and utilising a squad that has pretty much every type of player under the sun can make a hell of a difference.
I very much doubt that DC told his players to hoof it up to Easter and Taylor at every opportunity. I'd be pretty surprised if he didn't give specific instructions to try and work it into their feet. But if the opposition bully you off the ball, close you down quickly and generally get in your face then long ball just becomes infectious throughout the side because it's the 1st game of the season, they're probably a bit nervous etc and no one wants to take responsibility. The idea that a manager just switches a button and magically we start passing the ball around like the 1970 Brazilians is rubbish. So much comes down to the confidence of the players in terms of how prepared they are to take responsibility on the ball. I've seen this happen so often.
People talk like they think managers are idiots and they can't see what needs to happen. I imagine that anyone that's been in football for as long as most managers have can pick up this kind of thing 10 times quicker than your average but doing something about it is pretty difficult. I think Monkhouse is likely to be a big loss for us - an awkward customer who was difficult to bully off the ball and very intelligent at finding space on the ball. Doesn't matter how good your wingers are: if they constantly get the ball with 2 opposition players in front of them with the centre backs sitting deep behind then they're not going to be very effective.

There is no point playing a winger if you're not going to play to a style that befits having them andso,e of the team selections have been bizarre since DC took over. I think that worked at conference level but will be caught out in the FL. i am not too worried about the players but I do worry that DC can be very stubborn and will carry in in the oeuvre that he did under Ward and after he took over from him. I was hoping that our first home game would see us set up with attacking intent, if on,y to five some entertainment to the bigger crowd. Thing is that many, who come on few occasions, will not be encouraged by that kind of performance. We sometimes forget that this game is supposed to be entertaining.

That is very subjective but, for me, anything other than L1 status, if football is the only point. If finances are brought into it then a self sustaining club that does. It have to rely upon its chairman to put money in to shore up his own multitude of errors and financial mismanagement
