Seeing those Rovers' legends on Friday night got me wondering.
Holloway and Francis, arms around one another, both worth a bob or two; they can't both be satisfied with the occasional punditry.
Tom Stanton....lower in profile, but a successful businessman since his retirement and a wise and perceptive individual.
All three will have made contacts in and out of football over the years....some I'm sure with a bit of dosh to spare.
All three still with a strong attachment to the club and a rapport with the fans.
There doesn't seem to be ONE person with the desire to pour new millions into our club.
What about a CONSORTIUM involving the three I've mentioned.
It would certainly be lively...and I'm not sure I'd want to be the manager answerable to that board!
Anyways, just a thought, back to reality.....now can we get a winger on loan before the start of the season ?!

Francis and Holloway would not risk their own hard earned cash. They have family to consider. You would have to be a real fan to put in something like £7m of your own fortune and expect to write it off ....who would do it ....Not sure Tommy would want to do anything I doubt if he is even a nominal shareholder and I have rarely seen him at any home games over the past 25 years. Gerry and Ollie I cant see even getting on ...the myth was underlined in a radio programme I heard this morning on radio 5 live...well worth a listen...most football dressing rooms are dark places, plenty of bullying and few if any friends made....myth about teams with team spirit ...everyone just plays for themselves and many of the team mates are hated and at some Clubs they don't even speak to each other....The Crazy Gang which included Ollie briefly openly hated each other and many found it impossible to control...Dave Bassett apparently let them fight each other after training when he had gone home !

I'd imagine most of us on here wouldn't buy the club for £7m even if they'd won £70m on the Euromillions.
Basically, the only millionaire Rovers fan willing to invest has already done so.

I'd invest in the club if it had no debts, and expect nowt in return. But to give those people money and bail them out of their hole...no way.

If I won say 100M on the Euro millions, once I'd sorted out my family and debt I would invest. Anything to see Rovers above City.

You're quite right there, and I sometimes wonder why the super-mega rich Lansdown tolerates City (despite what their deluded we-are-a-massive-club fans think) being, in reality, a smallish club, registering very, very low on the radar of fame and glory, who hop between the Championship and League 1. As a super-duper rich person he could have made them a success 10 years ago. Don't quote me stats on FFP and all that b*llocks. The super-rich ignore all those rules and do what they want. Maybe it was just a little hobby for him, but he seems to be stepping things up a bit now with the no-longer-Trashton Gate rebuild. If he chooses to do it, C*ty can make the Prem. If he's got a busy few days at the office, or if he decides he's now more interested in rugby, or promoting Ladies' football, or maybe naked Japanese sushi-rolling contests on the pitch, then he might leave them where they are for now until he gets a bit bored. He really is God to them.

If I won Euromillions I'd buy a fleshlight and a four pack of Natch.
