What is this new concept "get real" some of you speak of? Raising one's consciousness levels to a cognitive level of realism where one recognises that BRFC 1883 are in League Two rather than potential Champions of Europe..... Totally new idea, won't catch on!

Nothing wrong losing to WBA; however, unfortunately this team currently IMO looks like losing ever game. Poor goalkeeper (was good in the past) now past it, regular mistakes at centre back (arsenal and WBA), missing and a unfit mansell is a big loss, Will Lee Brown ever play again for BRFC ?, lockyer is not a full back and up front woeful, taylor needs 20 chances to score one goal, harrison and easter walking injuries waiting to happen at any time, and wingers we got none = bottom half of div 2. UTG

This is pre season, we will look bad trying new systems and playing after training! Its all about fitness, we trained on Friday before the game, expect we have been doing hard fitness work. Will we be doing that next week??? Judge after a few league games, when we prepare properly etc. Dc has even said he does not care about pre season, It's all about fitness and he did not want to play are normal way as Northampton had scouts.

Had a few beers with an ex pro last night and after several examples of pre season results we agreed that pre season results mean sod all.

Exactly, no points up for grabs here, just another opportunity to fine-tune fitness and tactics. I thought that the WBA manager Tony Pulis gave an excellent interview prior to the game on BBC Points West. He's a good man (and manager) is Tony Pulis, and I was a little sad to hear him speaking about BRFC as if in a bygone age. We've clearly hitched ourselves to a wrong star somewhere along the way, and he has forged onwards and upwards. But good luck to him all the same.

Unfortunately people within the game all say the same thing. "What's wrong there?"

I am hoping to be up to the first game at least. Would have been great to see the lumpert character. Some of us were standing all game He got a great reception from us, before the game, during the game we even applauded his goals and as the teams left the pitch at the end. I hope he does really well at WBA after the disgraceful way he was treated by Brendon Rodgers.

It was far better to play Arsenal youngsters, Reading and West Brom rather than no disrespect Salisbury, Cirencester, Paulton and Man Utd (Mangos) We will learn more from defeat than winning against poor sides.

What I liked on Friday is that we kept trying to play properly. We didn't resort to lumping it forward trying to snatch a goal, we kept our shape and tried our best to play through them. It reinforced it as a training session, and I felt a useful one.
If we play like that at 0-1 down against Cobblers with 10 minutes to go, I'll be less impressed.

Brendan Rodgers imo had no idea as to the type of player he was buying in Lambert, looking to replace the ear biter he was after an out and out striker, Rickie Lamber is not that player, hope he does well at WBA and pretty sure Tony Pulis will utilise him in the way to get the best out of him
