I'm in Poland at the moment and a few days ago I went to a Polish top flight match - Jagiellonia Bialystok winning their home game 2 nil. Ironically, in a beautiful 22,000 rebuilt stadium (sorry no photos) and the crowd of 10,500 were brilliant - the main singing end was led by a guy beating a huge drum - the fans didn't stop singing and bouncing all game in what was a routine victory. It puts Gasheads and other clubs to shame.
I was always anti-drum BUT having seen this - I think It would GET people to open mouths and maybe BOUNCE too !!

But it wouldn't be like that. It'd be like every other tossy drum at grounds in England. Irritating and contrived.

Evening Post website is annoying and full of adverts waiting to screw up your screen.
If this blog, by the way blogs are equally annoying, is about drums, I, for one, would be willing to commit a breach of the peace and gleefully destroy any drum coming near me.
This is not the first time drums have been raised, for goodness sake be original and think of something else.

Umm, I didn't mean LITERALLY banging a drum, just that our build up seems incredibly downbeat when we should be shouting about our return to the FL.

Doubt that anybody would miss me, but I won't attend if we have to put up with an attention seeking arse with a drum.

One of the few of the things I picked up from those tedious ubiquitous training/motivational/group or team building etc courses I have been on is that events are situational and depends on the character of the organisation/team/people; it's just not the Rovers way to be OTT. We have a fiercely loyal fan base and are on the whole mostly understated, but 6000 turn up for a reason. It's the way the Gas are and to turn the Blackthorn into a quasi rave would mostly not work and/or drive people elsewhere, take a look at the supporters on the flanks of the stand.
In cricket the crowd at Lord's is different to the one at Edgbaston or OT, but the grounds are full of cricket/England lovers (or maybe Aussies haters.)

Please don't say "forget court cases". It's almost like you're insulting our intelligence by reducing us to mindless seals clapping and smiling while the club runs into serious trouble.

People have either: a. Read the title of this post and assumed it's an article about getting a drum or... b. Not read the article because of pop-up ads which I'm afraid I personally can do nothing about. The only time I actually mention drum is in the last sentence, and I use it metaphorically: "It’s time to thump the drum, raise the flag and stop bickering and moaning about being hard done by. Who wants the job?" I am also sorry if I gave c13 the impression I was addressing the remark to the fans. I am not. I am directing it to those on the board who seem to only open their mouths these days to talk about those "nasty people at Sainsbury's" who 'stole' their money. If people would read the piece before commenting it might put things into perspective. Meantime, I don't know if a kind administrator might change the title to wave the flag, or would that make us sound like Chelsea 'plastics'?

I can't understand the thinking behind the OP's blog, has why would somebody who owns over 50% of a business suddenly step down, unless someone else was prepared to buy him out?
Until the Sainsbury's saga is settled one way or the other I can't see any change at the top.
NH will be our only drum majorette for at least a few more months I fear.

I'm not saying he should step down, I am saying he should do what all "good" leaders do and delegate. He can't put all his efforts into getting his money back AND give his full attention to what is going on football-wise. Obviously he will have the final say if it is down to transfers etc, but someone else should be concentrating on the day to day football matters.

At least the message from the Bristol Post columnists are clear and consistent:
"It’s time to thump the drum, raise the flag and stop bickering and moaning about being hard done by."
" If we all pull together, we shall survive this blow, too."
" it is time for Gasheads to cease the bleating and moaning on twitter and facebook and across the various chat rooms."
"They should turn the adversity into a strength in any way they can, using it to unite the supporter base."
"And, as long as the supporters remain united, half the battle will be taken care of".
So, basically, sit down, shut up, keep calm and carry on, stiff upper lip, bow down to the flag, we'll all be home by Christmas, there is no Sanctuary, so bless our sweet masters.
So very, very tired of this. I don't mean to be mean Nick, and to be fair you do call for Higgs to step back, which is a practical step that could be achievable.
But please, please, stop telling me to eat s**t and pretend it's sugar.
