Ha! Spot the sore Labour voter amongst the mods. Nothing offensive was being said, no raised voices, just harmless conversation. I just hope that all threads containing posts that aren't football related are given the anchor with the same enthusiasm. We've still got mods? I thought threads were allowed about anything now women's sport, Bristol Manor Farm..... oh well I guess almost anything

I liked the bit where he says that the rich should be taxed until they are no longer rich because being rich doesn't make them happy.
As an Arsenal supporter he'll no doubt be campaigning to get rid of their high earners and won't have been happy when £100,000 a week player Walcott scored in the cup final and would have been distraught when £150,000 a week Alexis Sanchez (estimated net wealth $36,000,000) hit that screamer into the roof of the net.
The lovely bit is that our dear Jeremy considers anyone earning more than 50k as rich ! I love him. Will he wear a donkey jacket to the Remembrance Ceremony? I reckon 8000+ for the first home game. He must have hated Bob Crowe

The thread is about a Sainsburys store in Bath isn't it? Not very Rovers related. I think we've locked/moved other threads with nothing to do with Rovers before too. I'm insulted to be called a sore Labour voter too Best lock that thread where sectarian language is being used as well hadn't you?
In all seriousness, there was nothing offensive or aggressive in the banter about Corbyn, these threads will just die a natural death anyway, you are just setting yourself up for complaints about not locking / anchoring all threads where anyone makes any comment that has nothing to do with Rovers.

As of 1 April 2014 an MP's salary is £67,060, but I believe that there is a pay-rise in the offing? There is also the matter of further expenses to cover the costs of running an office, employing staff, having somewhere to live in London and in their constituency, and travelling between Parliament and their constituency. All of this of course leads them blindly into temptation, but that is not the point that I'm trying to make. No, to return to the point, if Jeremy Corbyn ''considers anyone earning more than 50k as rich,'' then by definition he must be rich himself. Seems like a bit of an own goal that. No more than 7,500 by the way.

They're not setting themselves up for anything. The same few indignant agitators moaning about moderation on a football forum is hardly something for the mods to worry about. Edit: Sorry Nobby! 8612.

The crowd man, the crowd !!!!!! He worked himself up into such a lather of righteous indignation, that I suspect that he completely forgot about it. Activists eh?

Anyway, I'm surprised that the forum isn't alive with posts about how the fans are going to meet at The Welly and set up some kind of fans' group to get the club running properly.
Please nobody tell me that it was just hot air, the same as the Welly discussion group was last summer?

that's the job they're tasked with doing, I imagine the fact it annoys certain posters only makes it more fun for them.

Still, let's put all that behind us, when do we meet at a pub to plan the takeover?

why are you asking me? Pubs are for drinking in, not meetings.

why are you asking me? Pubs are for drinking in, not meetings. It was an open question, was rather hoping that Jon from the FFS would read and reply, he obviously missed the questions in the thread about his plans for a fans' group to get involved in running the club.

Haha! Yup and it was the global financial crisis that sold Treasury gold reserves at a two decade low for gold prices. And it was that ruddy global financial crisis that created that two decade low price of gold by announcing in parliament that the gold market would be saturated by the Treasury selling its gold reserves. And I can not believe that cheeky little global financial crisis created a telecoms bust by making the 3G licencing sale a blind auction. None of which caused the recession, did it? Keeping interest rates at unsustainable lows for a long time, funding a housing bubble (which is almost the sole cause of poverty in uk) didn't help. Recession is a usual part of the economic cycle. Gordon brown bailed out the banks with our money. Gordon also expanded the p sector to higher levels for ideological purposes.
