If that's the case, the pay etc can not be that good and/or he is looking around. DC wants players keen to play for the club so delaying signing speaks volumes. But what do we know?
I can't imagine there are too many players out there who would be itching to commit to a three month deal when there might be a year's contract elsewhere. If the lad breaks down injured again he's got no security at all with a short-term deal. Exactly why sign a contract that doesn't even take you to the next transfer window? Think if I was Billy I'd have to be absolutely desperate to sign that contract. And if he's absolutely desperate he probably isn't worth signing.

It's plainly obvious DC hasn't completely made his mind up on Bodin, hence the offer.
I'm completely comfortable with that at this stage, based on what I've seen (him play two games).
I hope he takes his chance and plays himself into contention, but wouldn't blame him at all for trying to find something more secure for himself. It might mean a smaller club, or dropping down, as I can't see he'll be offered anything above us. Good luck to him.
I just don't know why we don't go for Connor Clifford to fill right sided midfielder/winger role? He's a free agent...

I think this is the reality that we have to get used to now. I noticed we have placed an advert for a match day physio, advertised as on a casual basis but has to be available for home and away games. The UWE and court case plus the loan from MSP has placed us In a position where I don't believe we have any choice but to try to get the people in as cheaply as possible. It certainly yells out tinpot but that is the reality. As much as the clubs hierarchy say the playing side is separate from the rest, I don't see how it can be. One just naturally rolls into the other. I do think it is common sense to offer a player a contract where he is able to prove his fitness and whether he is fit for purpose. We have all seen what can happen when we offer longer contracts to players and then they are just not up to it.

He only signs because he has no other offers and we sign a player no-one else wants. Now if Ward, Buckle or McGhee had signed players who couldn't get a contract anywhere else we'd all have been rejoicing wouldn't have we?

On paper he's worth a second look, but I do have some nagging doubts about him and his situation. He's 23-years of age and has had a host of clubs in the past six years, some of them quite tidy clubs too. I fully expected Barnet to offer him something, but as you say he's now a free-agent. Is it attitude, fitness or an overly zealous agent that is keeping him that way? I suspect that it might well be his agent, oh and the signing-on fee.

Barnet are documented as struggling defensively as they need a second keeper and central defender as priority. I'm sure he would've signed for them by now. Strange, as it's gone quiet on his name, but CC was a big influence on the right side for Barnet last season, and a look (I thought) would mean nothing to lose, especially as Bodin has a short term offer on table which has yet to accept.

Just thought that I would punctuate this conversation with the news that Billy Bodin has signed the short-term deal.
I hope for everyone's sake that he can do enough over the next 3 months to warrant a longer contract with Rovers. Good luck Billy.
