IMO, not a world beater, but probably worth a three month contract;from what I have seen of him he wont get much football in the first team.

I think he is a cracking player and I'm pleased DC wants to keep him around for a longer look. The 3 month contract is probably cautionary because of his recent injury's. I hope he takes the offer a gets a good run.

Starting to think we have lost this one.... Three months just is not a great deal
Lets to see if he ends up at Forest Green instead.

Disappointed this hasn't happened by now and potentially wont given the derisory offer we have made him.
Christ the season hasn't started, the summer of shambles rumbles on and i'm losing interest in all the BRFC bulls**t ... testing times in my house !!

Why is a short-term contract for a player coming back from a long-term injury 'derisory'? Looks sensible to me. If he doesn't want it, that's his lookout.

I love the passion Somerset, but blimey mate LIGHTEN UP! You cannot be that upset by the fact that a possible squad player has or hasn't signed? Can you?

A lot of people don't take this sort of thing into account. They think we should offer big contracts to anybody who looks half decent on loan or when they are on trial. When someone comes into a club on trial, it's usually for a good reason. Bodin is clearly a talented player but he has numerous injuries in his career and hasn't flourished anywhere. DC is absolutely spot on to offer a short-term contract, as the incentive is then there for the player to work hard for an extension. He doesn't want to take an unnecessary gamble on a player by offering a 1 or 2 year deal off the cuff; he wants them to prove they are willing to fight for a longer deal and add to the squad. I hope Bodin decides to do that - and the fact he has been on the training camp in South Wales this week is a positive sign - but if he doesn't then he clearly doesn't want to be here that much.

DC seems to do pretty well at this stuff. I'm happy to follow what he thinks

Perhaps he's just taking his time signing as I assume once he does then the 3 months clock starts ticking? If so then he may as well wait until next Friday to sign?
Alternatively he will pull a fast one by letting us get him fully fit then sign for another club!

If that's the case, the pay etc can not be that good and/or he is looking around. DC wants players keen to play for the club so delaying signing speaks volumes. But what do we know?

I can't imagine there are too many players out there who would be itching to commit to a three month deal when there might be a year's contract elsewhere. If the lad breaks down injured again he's got no security at all with a short-term deal.

Genuine question ,as I don't know the rules on this, but, if he signs for three months can we resign him or anyone else for that matter because of the windows etc (I don't mean windows 10 or bedroom windows either)

I hope he's been given some kind of deadline. To me you want to start a season with a settled full squad with some pre-seasons to practise set ups. We still do not have a proper squad, there are one or two holes. There is obviously money budgeted for Bodin, if he does not sign soon then we need to get in another/others before the start of the season.
Rovers time and time again have started seasons without a full squad or missing a key positional player eg goalkeeper and it has costs us.
