I know the preference on this forum is for lots of doom and gloom, but let's not forget how important that penalty shoot out wins for us, especially viewed in the context of Monday's decision.
At present we are facing a period of uncertainty, at worst we're slowly walking towards a cliff edge with who know's what on the other side. If we had lost at Wembely we'd be staring into the abyss, trying to keep the club alive in a league that would rip the club apart if we wen't into administration.
Whatever has happened behind the scenes, the lads did the business on the pitch last season and the club is stronger for it, if we get behind them this season and they do the same again then there will be opportunities for a new ground in the future.

Agree. We could have been in a worse position. Let us be thankful for small mercies.

The most important thing now is not to let this effect matters on the field. Mr Higgs made a massive mistake when he took his eyes of on field issues the season we got relegated due to distractions with Sainsburys and UWE. He claims he has learnt from the mistakes made so whatever he does next must not effect the team on the pitch.
We are all as fans unable about how things off the pitch has gone but that must not effect us when we go and support the players.

Thank goodness for Wembley, that money is needed to pay the legal team.

Thank goodness for Wembley, that money is needed to pay the legal team. Failure to beat grimsby would have killed the club within two years, now we might last 5. This bod is killing the club. No change no chance.

Thank goodness for Wembley, that money is needed to pay the legal team. No Win No fee policy Higgs said costs were circa half a million quid. Probably about the same amount that we made from Wembley.

I wonder where we'd be without the win, in danger of becoming this season's Hereford or Salisbury facing Admin and expulsion from the Conference, or just keeping our heads above water and the present BoD forced out by irate fans who weren't prepared to accept non league football along with the lack of a new stadium?

Higgs said costs were circa half a million quid. Probably about the same amount that we made from Wembley. Sometimes, on the very odd occasion the figures really do penetrate, mostly because I choose to ignore them as I'm not responsible for the debts. But £500,000 spent with nothing to show for it, God's teeth. And it seems possible that the BoD intend to get back on the roulette wheel, just like a dog chasing its tail. I know that it's been said before, but I really do hope that it's their own money that they're wasting, but clearly we'll never know. But at this rate though we'll all have to club together, and buy Toni Wattola a new abacus.

(sorry about that, if I think it's good then probably loads on here will think it's utter clap-trap)
In a world where football finances are utterly bonkers, it's easy to get trapped in a mind-set of thinking in millions, but just about about year ago, good people were unceremoniously kicked out of the club in an attempt to cut costs, I doubt that they were earning much more than £20,000 each. Fast forward a year and we have just blown £500,000.00 on legal fees challenging a contract, when it seems even our own legal guys thought we were doomed to failure.
And just to pop a cherry on top of the dung heap, Higgs claims that he doesn't even know what the final legal bill is!.

Brilliant post. The redundancies stunk the place out and one of the most culpable people in the fall of Bristol Rovers retained his job and gave evidence in court.........

I suppose now we're back in the league, we can reconsider employing some of the valued employees and great servants to the club, that lost their job through no fault of their own from redundancy last year?
Just saying, like...
