Chris Lines just scored direct from a free kick after 15 minutes.

Here with my boy for his first ever match, proudly wearing his blue & white quarters - and confused 'cos the Gas are wearing the black & white away kit! Anyway, Linesy's goal was a screamer, right on the left hand corner of the 18yd box.

Harrison off injured I think... Thats a worry. Precautionary, I think. I'm sat behind the dugout and he seems ok. No serious intervention or attention from physio.

Again, it looks precautionary 'cos he's warming down now. But he looks an impressive signing - Yates-like, very calm and assured.

2-1. Preston saved a penalty but the rebound was scored. Promising that Preston saved it, though.

He came on yesterday and looked a real handful, good signs of our younger squad members developing after yesterday's performance.

Spoke briefly to Darrell when he was leaving the ground in his car. No injury worries after the game.

Yes, but it is good that he managed to save the actual penalty irrelevant! Not totally irrelevant - with faster defenders there wouldn't have been a goal.

Not totally irrelevant - with faster defenders there wouldn't have been a goal. If he did actually save it and hold onto it, a decent ref would have had it retaken anyway, he was two yards off his line when he saved it!
Other than that, I was pleasantly surprised how well Preston did, he didn't look nervy at all and generally did pretty well.

Good run out for the Gas. Ajala (7) looked lively. Williams (11) not so good, bit clumsy. Lines head and shoulders the best player on the pitch. Parkes excellent. Sutton are a decent club and were very welcoming. Spoke to some of the contingent of Altona FC (Hamburg) - over on a visit to Dulwich Hamlet - who decided to take in the game. Apparently they are the more (than St Pauli) left wing anarchist club from Hamburg playing in the German 5th tier. Good day out. UTG. Will be in the High Court tomorrow for Judgement Day.
