Good grief.
The Greens see sport as something the uncouth and unwashed do whole they're selling their organic sourdough bread.
Yet another reason why Ferguson is a joke - having someone like her anywhere near leadership.

I disagree BG, it's totally believable, councils have long had a reputation of failing to notice the difference between its arse and its elbow.

Surely they would know what she's been upto the last few years in regards with trying to have Rovers over??
Mental decision. What interest does she even have in sport? Or is this one big evil plot, to finish Brizzle's sporting clubs once & for all!

Can we petition to get her sacked. Absolutley disgraceful decision. How on earth can someone who just opposed the development of sporting facility become head of sport or whatever title she has been given.

Perhaps someone should tweet her for her views on how professional sport should be helped in Bristol.

I did she said BRFC should move to South Glos and have been given 28 days notice to leave the Mem and we cant take the Mem gates with us as Mr Carstairs wants them listed. Sounds a tad harsh on her first day

Surely there's a conflict of interest? Irresponsible for sport is more accurate.
Ideal chance to make her work. Bombard her with questions, detail and justification for her actions.
Never forget..

I really do not understand this, unless somebody is setting her up for a big fall. Madness personified.

The Green party have protested against all three projects in Horfield. They openly supported Horfield ROSE on their website . Also DR was against Gloucesterhire cricket expansions via the HOWZAT campaign. And she supported TRASH and prevented us getting a new stadium. That is three projects all supported by DR and against sports developments. Two new groups are now forming. One : which is challenging alternative use for the Memorial stadium and one which is challenging the floodlights at Nevill Road.
Every time I sit in a cafe on Gloucester Road on my lunch break. I read the local magazine which encourages protest groups to challenge in any form ALL sports developments. Of course this is their right to be anti - sport and alert. But for her to head up sports and for TRASH to say 'they support sports locally' is remarkable.
I don't know what to think about this appointment. It feels like a statement that this powerful women is now in control and her successful campaigns are rewarded.

Mike.
The gates are already listed, you can thank Horfield ROSE for dealing with that.

If this is correct perhaps she should be approached by the club and asked to help us succesfully deliver our new sporting facility, as she was part of BCC that supported the development, I mean that's what she's there for now isn't it ?

Probably return it to being used as allotments which was what it was used for before the rugby arrived.

They just won a load of seats in the local election. Vox populi, vox dei. Is it like national government insofar as sport is part of a wider remit? Even so, I think transport, which is a mess, might be a portfolio that would be more relevant and to which they might give a bit of much needed oomph.

Or with an election coming up and the Green Party rising in popularity, you give their leading councillor a job that effectively neuters her. All the major sporting decisions have been taken and approved. (Possible judicial reviews on GCCC's floodlights and Sainsbury's are outside BCC control).
Now Ms Radice cannot oppose sporting developments without looking ridiculous, and probably joining Mark Bradshaw on the fired list. Stroke of genius.
