You don't write for hte Mirror do you? Or was that some other s***head twat? (Edit: I thought it would autocorrect twat - you learn something every day.) I know its half term but don't you need some sleep to enable you to concentrate on tomorrow's pre exam prep. Ha,ha! Monster - you are one sad individual as proven before, but I see you are not to be dissuaded from coming on here pretending to be a Rovers supporter, yet spouting crap.

Anything the Gas do, the Sheeds will go fully out of their way to belittle or attempt to beat it.
- Rovers beat Alfreton 7-0 - s**theads creating mock '7 not up' pics to circulate the net - Rovers play at Wembley - s**theads posting pics of an empty Grimsby end claiming it was Rovers non attendance - Rovers play at Wembley - s**theads posting pics of how many they took to Wembley - Rovers hold open top bus parade - s**theads pass round pics claiming no one showed up & bragging how many were at their own parade.
It's just one huge inferiority complex, though it's funny the p**s takers were no where to be seen when Matt 'hung like a porn star' Taylor was on full show only 7 days ago.....

Check out Linesy's video from the bus, going through Kingswood High Street: Most people are just by-passers who just happened to be there doing a bit of shopping...very few for whom it was a destination. Yeah, most people in Kingswood go shopping in blue & white. I'd give up if I was you pal; you're making yourself look a prize clown.

Personally, Id have preferred just a family fun day and team appearance at the Mem, but everyone seemed to have a great day, whether in groups of 10 dotted about the route, or 500 hundred at Kingswood and 2000 at Mem.
Also, there were at least 6 City fans who dragged themselves from their crack and play station dens to watch the bus go by, so we've contributed to the health of City fans.
Everybody wins.

Can anybody remember the Whit Monday bands which used to parade through Kingswood on this day? Kingswood Temperance Parade For many years Kingswood was the focus of an annual temperance parade featuring musical bands and 'floats' with local children and church groups on board. The parades attracted crowds numbered in the thousands and were hugely popular. With the demise of the temperance league participants dramatically reduced. The parades, which were always held on Whit Monday, were supplemented by evening fireworks in the early 1990s and re-branded as the Kingswood Festival. At one festival the pop band Worlds Apart performed. The Whit Monday parades have now stopped. Istr as a cub scout in the 70s being sat on the back of a lorry doing a parade through Kingswood. Is that the same one?

Being a bit bored and nerdy I rattled off a couple of emails to The Mirror and Independent. They answered quickly, firstly from The Mirror:
Thank you for your email. I'm sorry you did not enjoy the article by Jim Daly on Bristol Rovers bus parade, but I must point out that the piece you mention was intended to be a humorous piece and is not in any way a serious criticism of Bristol Rovers, the players or the staff.
It was published in our Row Zed section of the website, which is where all the offbeat/amusing content around football is published, and as you point out, Jim did include another picture of the bus tour which showed that many Rovers fans turned out to support the team and celebrate their achievement of winning promotion.
Again, I must reiterate that this was in no way a serious piece criticising the club, but simply a humorous piece based on that first picture which is, I'm sure, how most readers will view it.
...and The Independent:
Thank you for getting in touch about an item that appeared on the Independent website yesterday. I take your point that it was perhaps a little negative in its tone. The piece was intended to be a light-hearted commentary on the tweets being disseminated by the club's official feed - but I'm sorry that it caused a degree of offence. I hope in spite of your concern on this occasion that you will continue to visit our site and find much to enjoy. Thank you again for taking the time to write to us about this matter.
Both responses are fair enough, but the harm is done. The bee is out of my bonnet and I move on!

Please stop all this bobbins claiming we shouldn't have had the bus tour / do at the mem. It was good, a lot of people were happy with it and quite frankly we've been promoted twice in my 24 years of watching the gas so don't tell me when I can / can't enjoy a promotion because you deem the league we were in not up to scratch.

Totally agree with Chewy! I have had the luck to see 4 promotions in my 42 years following the Gas and i have to say that this seasons promotion has meant more to me than any of the others. Really enjoyed the chance to celebrate at the Mem with the team and get a few cider on board as well. We don't get much to cheer about as Rovers fans so lets stop bleating and enjoy the moment! UTG!

Also worth noting some kids found love yesterday, their first Rovers experience, why wouldn't we be proud and enjoy that?
Well done the club.

That's what changed my mind tbh - saw loads of families descend on the Mem yesterday. I can't complain that they do nothing to attract new support then moan when they do!

Well I came over from South Wales and thoroughly enjoyed it, well done to all those organising it and to the staff who came in on a Bank Holiday. I thought considering it was nearly a week after our success there was a very good turn out by fans.

Just what I was thinking, what a sad life, getting your kicks from being a wum Interesting comments, but as one who has worn the blue shirt in the seventies, played at Eastville many time and has been correct in most comments I've made about about the club and every comment I've made about the mythical UWE, I really don't think I have much to prove...and I bet I can do more keepy ups than you as well.
