I thought it was brilliant, Kingswood looked mental, and at the Mem, but even where i was on Church Road, where groups of 10-30 fans were clumped down the route - felt good. Glad we didn't do it thru the centre. I admit i was wrong as well, thought it was a bad idea, but if felt very genuine and a good way to sign off from what's been a crazy last two seasons. Next season we're gonna rip through that league, Man Vs Food style. Plenty of big games down the Mem. Can't wait. I was in Kingswood outside the Legion so please don't take the piss or exaggerate a thoroughly embarrassing spectacle...for those who weren't there but are reading this, a few turned up and most people were confused about what was going on or who was on the bus, as for groups of 10-30 there were more people on the bus stops. Big mistake. To quote Archie Knox "Stop talking pish"...

There was coverage on the radio - it sounded great. And I laughed out loud at the reaction when George Ferguson was announced

Don't bite at monsters***head. I didn't go to the Mem so can't comment but I agree I did exaggerate the lack of numbers at Kingswood there were a good 50 most of whom were either shopping in Sainsbury's with their boyfriends before and after or drinking in the Legion with the usual bunch of old dossers and came out to find what the noise was about.

Between Kingswood and the mem, it was better than I feared it would be so far after the match, and with a decent bank holiday weatherwise.
Just don't take it too seriously, it was a bit of fun. No crime committed, except the guy who wore a 'full of gas' blow up white suit at the mem - what the hell that is I do not know? Do people who do these things have friends?

Check out Linesy's video from the bus, going through Kingswood High Street: Most people are just by-passers who just happened to be there doing a bit of shopping...very few for whom it was a destination.

Can anybody remember the Whit Monday bands which used to parade through Kingswood on this day?
Kingswood Temperance Parade For many years Kingswood was the focus of an annual temperance parade featuring musical bands and 'floats' with local children and church groups on board. The parades attracted crowds numbered in the thousands and were hugely popular. With the demise of the temperance league participants dramatically reduced. The parades, which were always held on Whit Monday, were supplemented by evening fireworks in the early 1990s and re-branded as the Kingswood Festival. At one festival the pop band Worlds Apart performed. The Whit Monday parades have now stopped.
