Wembley bag could double up as a barf bag on way home?! How about a signed copy especially for Wembley? !! The book, not the barf bag.. good ideas. although I always joke that a signed copy reduces its value Haha! Deflation in more ways than one..

That strikes me as a case of 'Can anyone think of an excuse to justify doing things in a half-arsed way, preferably with a hint of poor us?'. The things aren't hand sewn of a type of silk made only in a single mill in Nanjing with a four-month lead time, using a dye made from a rare berry only available in July: they're printed by a machine that already has the template. They're as easy to rattle off as Grimsby stripes - if we wanted to and were prepared to risk having a few left over. Ha ha Exactly Some people will believe anything It's the 'club should be applauded' stuff that gets me. We had the same with the advertised price hike for the Alfreton game ('commercially brilliant'), which turned out to be a typing error. We can't help it that they balls things up and miss open goals, but at least let's not applaud it. Talk about lowering our expectations - even the Duracell Bunny was more discrening about when to bang a drum.

It is such a relief that in the wake of our relegation lessons have been learned and we have such a professional like Boycie looking after the marketing side of things.
Still f**king rag bag rovers.

The problem we have Steve is that our shirts (the famous quarters) is not a "run of the mill" design like the Grimsby design. forget about the logo etc they are put on afterwards. I would like to bet the Grimsby's shirt was from stock and ours have to be made specially for us, hence the longer timescales. Now our "yellow" shirt is a standard design and is able to be produced and printed with a simple "Wembley 2015" logo quickly... Oh dear, here we go again, except catnip now not trym or henbury gas anymore, why do you do it to yourself? Do you not stop to think that there are quite a few people in marketing and manufacturing who would have found it hard not to fall over with laughter reading the reason you give to yet again defend a BoD who couldn't care for the fans. With respect to you I have no idea why you continue to defend the lack of interest in running the club properly but its not wise to assume we are plebs. There is no excuse to keep treating fans this way, im not a merch person but do understand people's frustration in not being able to purchase something traditional and relevant for the day, I totally get the BoD aren't in this for the long haul and have no desire to operate the club in a professional and prudent sense. The confusing thing is how the chairman one week is singing the praises of the great fans who turn out in huge numbers but does nothing to exploit the situation by making lots of money from those same fans and in turn improve the fortune of the club. If it is true that investors are waiting in the wings to take the club forward they will find that there are multiple marketing streams to explore and raise tens of thousands of pounds profit each season to run the club in a much more prudent sense, fingers crossed that sometime soon the club sees the back of the 7 military p's and employs the marketing 7 p's.

He does have a point though as why would the club produce the yellow strip, if it could produce more of the quarters strip?
You could say the club could have gambled and ask Errea to produce 1,000 shirts a month or do ago but if they weren't required no doubt we'd all be questioning why the club wasted £20K on shirts when they were already in a dire financial state?
Looking on the bright side we can all now save the £40 we would have spent on a new shirt!

I am convinced that if you pay the manufacturer the right Monet, that they could produce the shirts, and in the right time. It's either money or positive publicity that will make a manufacturer move. If we could get Anneka Rice or Nick Knowles to ask we would all be wearing the quarters. Needed energy and pressure last Tuesday!

O dear, this board of Directors seem to operate in a parallel universe. It's basic business sense, it's called contingency planning, you plan for what might happen even in the worst case scenario so that your business continues to operate effectively, it's not rocket science, really ! Maybe they did plan and didn't consider the worst case that we could get promoted or get to the play off final, who knows ? I'll happily do a presentation to the board why you should apply this process to ALL their planning free of charge. I'd suggest they could also obtain this information free of charge on line but I understand they've said they don't have sufficient IT skills computer punch Some companies operate with staff who apply what can be termed a 'can do' approach, others operate with a 'whatever it takes' approach, I know which one I apply to get the best results.

Even the flags have sold out!!! My book is still in stock. SPECIAL WEMBLEY EDITION * as well! Perfect present for ... er... reading on the coach, and then... er...waving around above your head once you are in the stadium. It's just like wearing a brand new Kit, that unfortunately you cannot purchase at the moment. Get them whilst you can.
* The SPECIAL WEMBLEY EDITION is the same as the normal edition, but placed in a clear plastic bag, to help avoid beer spillages.
Couldn't you at least go to the trouble of writing Special Wembley Edition on the cover in biro?

If we had had a PROPER REVIEW - like we were PROMISED - this would have enabled us to learn from our mistakes. We would have learnt to put in contingency planning. We would have planned for Wembley - as this has been a fairly likely venue for us since Christmas. This is yet another example of incompetence. But I guess we're used to it. Ragbag Rovers Til I Die.

But if we were run like a proper organisation would we really enjoy supporting Rovers as much, probably DC would have been forced to do a H&S survey before appearing in the Vic!

Fair point! But this is a massive marketing opportunity for a Club deep in debt and a chance to earn £10's of thousands of profit. How the BoD ever made money in the real world is a total f**king mystery. UTG.

In a slight defence of the board, i am not sure what two builders and an insurance saleman know about that sort of Marketing. No idea what mystery man Rod did and Boycey is well Boycey. However you would think the thought would have crosssed their minds. And before anyone laughs did BSS PR sense ever think about it

Boycie used to own the Errea franchise for the Southwest and make loads of profit that was more than likely divvied up between himself and the rest of the directors but now he doesn't own the franchise perhaps that's the reason for the lack of marketing on this front because the only organisation which would stand to profit is Bristol Rovers , Call me cynical but there were plenty of shirts available in 2007 ironically at a time when Bradshaw held the franchise.

Wembley edition polo and t-shirts have been available on the club shop website for several days now. It's not a special Wembley replica kit or an early release of next season's kit, but it's something. They are official, bring some money to the club, and are reasonably priced. www.brfcdirect.co.uk/best_detail.asp?prod_id=476#prod_anchor

Not much point in buying these over the standard polo/T-shirts, unless you haven't got any type of Rovers shirt. In fact should we lose on Sunday I doubt I'd ever wear a "Wembley 15" shirt again!

Of course they aren't good enough for some as not blue & white quarters !! And sad as it may seem I sometimes still wear the millennium 07 polo top just because it's crap !! No doubt I'll wear the Wembley one again after we lose on the 17th - unbelievable negativity but actually totally believable on here

I really do wonder what our club are up to when a brilliant opportunity comes around to sell a new kit and what have we got.... NOTHING. Barry Bradshaw and your so called Committee hang your heads in shame. Isn't it about time you came up to the standard of your Supporters? Even Grimsby have managed to get their New Kit out early. Even if we go up there will NEVER be a better opportunity to sell Blue and White quartered shirts. I understand that we will be playing in the Quarters at Wembley and I see that all that will be produced are a small supply of YELLOW shirts which have been worn this season. Why Oh Why do you expect Supporters to purchase a bloody Yellow shirt when our colours are BLUE AND WHITE QUARTERS? ? There will be in excess of 20,000 lost or possible "Supporters" turning out and Wembley and yet again our Marketing has fell miserabley short. Steve, You wonder why we board bashers get het up ? The guys who tried to help by joining the retail panel, left. They were not listened to and treated like crap. One is now making his own. Crossed swords 1883. The club is still run by the same idiots. It's not a surprise this happened and was expected, by me anyway

You honestly must be joking to suggest that just because Grimsby play in black & white stripes they just take their stock from any old where, as if their kit isn't unique, just like any modern kit is, with details changed each season. Look, it's simple. Fans like you and me can get away with a bit of light-hearted 'oh I don't want to mention Wembley until we get there' malarkey, but if you work for the club and /or are a Board Director in charge of that area, you need to be making contingency plans early in the season, especially a season like this where we've continuously been in the play-off slots (or briefly top) since November 2014. Of course you don't shout it around or think of it arrogantly, but you DO plan for what was always a pretty decent possibility. Contingency plans....are you kidding, ha, ha, ha, ha.....dear oh dear, I was chatting with someone the other day who posts on the other forum who was suggesting how miserable this forum was so I gave it to him with both barrells and said if he means that we are not satisfied with the disgraceful way the board treat us fans and the incompetent way this club is managed and marketed then yes too right we're bl**dy miserable
