This my plea to any Bristol Rovers fans not going to Wembley to change there mind. If I can change just one persons mind then writing this post will be worth it.
I have been to Wembley to watch the gas on the only 3 occasions we have been there before. We lost 2 of those games but did I enjoy the experience, oh yes and memories of those days will stick with me forever including being on a coach full of Rolf Harris's the first time we went (bit sinister now). The last time we went and won it took months for the smile to leave my face.
Yes the tickets should have been cheaper but if you look at it another way it's the price of two league games or a good night out. Play station games will cost you 40 a piece and you won't remember them for a lifetime I bet.
I'm not a rich person writing this post and I do understand that some people really can't afford it but if you can just go because you will never regret seeing the club you love win at Wembley I promise you that.

I didnt go in 2007, went there both times before when they lost to Hudds and Tranmere.
It must be the best place to be when we win, but the worst place to be if we lose.

I hated losing there, especially the Huddersfield game....just wanted to be home! I must admit I was a tad envious watching the 2007 celebrations on TV and not being there, which is one of the reasons i'm making an effort this time. I'm not there for the experience or occasion though, im there as a gashead to see us win and anything else will be a disappointment

I think it's a lot more bearable the younger you are - the experience of being there is a WOW thing ! The older you are the more painful it is - I think. Reading that just made me think about ageing

Can't see the point of this OP except to piss people off who cannot afford it.
MINIMUM £41 a ticket (inc fees) is disgraceful. Plus travel, food, time off work [for some] etc.
City could get £20 tkts for JPT final. We get £36 & £41. Rip-off Britain / Rip-off Bristol
In fact the poor gits who are currently being forced to buy tickets towards the back of the top tier are paying £36, the same as people getting a much closer view elsewhere.

Quite agree the thing is a rip off just got 8 tickets togeather eventually but am right at the top s**t view for 320 quid I really think why did I bother for what it's going to cost me to take them all plus food and drink me and the missus could have gone abroad for a week all I can say they better win

P.S. seen my team win at Wembley. Also seen them lose at Wembley, and Cardiff, and lose in play-off semi's twice. That's not the issue. Money is. and VFM. This season has been really good but 25+ games have taken their toll. My memories of this season are brilliant, especially Alfreton (99% gas! - never to be repeated!). also shots, Dover, FGR (both legs - possibly the only gashead to blag my way in the home terrace AFTER they cracked down on it). My memories are good, strong and happy. I'll still be there next season for the lowest gate of the season, on a wet November night, vs Bromley (or hopefully Accrington Stanley! )

Of course you could have bought the £10 cheapies and gambled we'd get to Wembley. But seriously it's no joke these costs. But remember, it's not our club, it's the rip off merchants at Wembley who are screwing us all. And remember, if we think it's bad, what must the fishermen think of it? It's further for them, and they can't get straight down on the train.
Always felt we'd go straight up or get to London. But still didn't want the cheapies as I prefer to be in with all the gas, not neutrals from god knows where.
As for you Ash, ask Paddy for a loan he seems to be doing alright. Bumped into him at Dover and Forest Green.

Would you prefer the final to be played at Arsenal's ground if the price was a lot cheaper ? I just wonder how much the FA charge to rent out Wembley for the day and how much impact that has on the ticket price ?

Emirates holds 60,000, if history is anything to go by we will probably take more than 30,000, if Grimsby take the same you would end up with some people not being able to get a seat, then the wailing and arm waving would start. Also, Emirates has far fewer 'cheap' seats than Wembley, so not everybody would have the option to purchase a basic seat without some form of hospitality. If you think £40 is expensive, that's a bargain compared to Emirates Club level prices. But where to play the game is always going to be difficult, if it was FGR Vs Eastleigh how many tiickets would they have sold? My guess, 20,000 absolute max, we all know how silly Wembley looks with a small group of fans at each end and the sides empty.

I just wonder how much the FA charge to rent out Wembley for the day and how much impact that has on the ticket price ? they can play it anywhere they want as long there are a range of ticket prices so people have a choice. That is quite normal football sense and business sense, ESPECIALLY when it is not even close to selling out. They had it for JPT, so why not this final? Tickets were £20-60 for adults, and £10-30 for OAPs and <16s. This time they don't even have OAP concession. The rent issue is actually the weirdest of them all. The conference say it is expensive to rent wembley yet they could have got FGR vs East with maybe a 10k crowd, plus voucher holders. Instead they get maybe 60k, yet can't even organise a range of prices. OR, don't want to as they will now make a LOT of money from it. Rip-off Britain, Rip-off Football, even Rip-Off Bristol this time!

The conference clubs do benefit (50%) but how does that help the average joe football fan, like you and me, who just happens to support his local, and rather unsuccessful club, rather than going off glory-hunting elsewhere? Surely the fans should be number 1 in this equation, not the clubs, not Wembley, and not the Conference. if it was not for paying fans the stadium would be empty.

Wembley is our national stadium, that's where cup finals etc should be played. But that doesn't mean that I agree with the prices, £25 for adults with concessions is the right number to watch 2 fifth tier teams slug it out I would have thought? The prices we are being charged make it 100% obvious that although the FA are making an absolute fortune they have no intention of filtering that money down to the people at the lower end of the game, quite the opposite in fact.

Real Roy of the Rovers stuff. I still can`t believe it happened to this football club. A moment of joy, in a lifetime of heartache.
