We aren't on course for anything like 40,000. It is just like we saw with Dover, albeit on a larger scale. The die hards buy early. We had the initial surge from ST/SC members, then the Thursday 9am rush.
We have done exceptionally well. Levels 1 and 2 are sold out and we are on the Level 5 tickets working our way around the top tier, but we would need to fill about 15ish blocks in the top tier to be hitting 40k.
I think a late surge of demand on that level is unrealistic. The fact this is a conference playoff (not league two), the stadium is not new anymore, the lack of concessions for over 65s, and the steep price of the tickets and the day out (Lets face it, a family of four is going to be a £200-250 day out, for a game which is on TV some will find hard to justify).
If we shift anywhere near or over 30,000 it will be an astonishing effort and just because we have banded about '40k' predictions we shouldn't be disappointed with that.

I said to mates last week, no way will we take 40k this time. Anything above 25k will be a cracking effort. Our average home and away attendances are bigger now than they were in back in 2007. We have just had back to back sell out gates for the first time since we've been at The Mem. I think we'll take 40k again.

I'm in block 547, which is quite far round tier 5, so i think we'll exceed 30k easily.

Seven years ago , there would be gasheads who might of went as kids will now want a day out with a bunch of mates. All the times I went were with big groups of gasheads most of whom I played football with on Saturday & Sunday.

For the TV cameras maybe.

All the times I went were with big groups of gasheads most of whom I played football with on Saturday & Sunday. Some dayout fans would of went for the City game there, not long ago. Wembley would of lost the novelty factor for a few after going in 2007. And mainly... the rediculous prices. How have I got tickets in Club Wembley for the same price as people in the back row of the top tier? Rediculous. I was going to buy 8 tickets, but 4 have pulled out due to the cost ("£40!? thought it would be about £20, not paying that"). No reason they couldn't have had £20, £30 and £40 price brackets. The Conference cite the cost of the stadium, and then hand over £200k to See Tickets. Interesting that plenty of neutral tickets seem to be snapped up on top of the 7,000. When they gave the 30k update, 21.5k was Rovers and 6k Grimsby, which leaves 2.5m extra neutral sales. Given its not at 36k, you would expect us to have hit 25k. Interesting also that the last neutral tickets available (and that is now only single tickets) are in the block marked for Grimsby cat 1 (119)... I wonder if they will put a few in the top, the Rovers fans up there will feel a bit lonely otherwise!

A few things to think about we had 39000 in Cardiff and just over 42000 for the playoff in 2007 , I couldn't buy 56 tickets on line yesterday unless I wanted us spread across the bottom two tiers all over our end of the stadium so I had the halfway line in block 552 in rows 30-34 so we are all sat together , I got through by phone around 10am Friday morning , apparently we are round to block 547 as of now midnight Friday ,so in my estimation we've sold out the majority of the first two tiers and are working our way around the top tier . The blocks in the top tier get bigger as they go round from the half way line and so far we are into the 22nd block of level 5 not bad after 5 days , it is also worth remembering that we didn't even have any seats designated to us in the middle tier( club Wembley)in 2007 and it was completely empty , Conference Twitter latest update is that over 36000 have been sold of which judging on what we're selling block wise we've sold around 27000 , so I would imagine that with 7 days of sales left we should reach at least 35k , I think that Grimsby will sell over 10k judging by their sales meaning that we will probably just about break the conference final attendance record. But who gives a f@ck as long as we win , UTFG

In 2007, we were halfway towards the Shrewsbury end in tier 1, (See my photo!!) so I don't think we'll get as many as that there!

Don't forget as your picture shows in 2007 it wasn't possible to buy tickets in the middle tier, this time we have sold out tier2(Middle), so I would imagine there is no way we will sell out all our blocks in the upper tier 3.

Think you may find we have sold nearer 30,000 than 25000 out of the 36000 sold but I can't see a great deal of activity between now and next Sunday so reckon the final figure might be around the 32,000 mark and I think the game may struggle to reach the record as can't see Grimsby selling many more. Shame really but 32,000 is pretty good fora non league match.Hope I am wrong.

36000 sold - does that include the voucher tickets purchased by other conference clubs prior to knowing who was playing?? was that about 7000 in total? If so that is 29000 between Rovers and Grimsby at the moment??

Conference geezer has just suggested it's 40,000 now via Periscope broadcast but not sure how accurate that figure was he gave.

Shame really but 32,000 is pretty good fora non league match.Hope I am wrong. I know quite a few (very) casual supporters who went to the Millennium Stadium and Wembley in 2007 but are not going this time. So, anecdotally at least, I don't think that this match has caught the imagination quite like that.
It was a division higher, we had recently beaten the sh*t, we had incredible momentum, new Wembley factor, lots of City daytrippers wanting to see the new stadium (they have just been).
What also doesn't help is See Tickets/Wembley/Conference or whoever absolutely raping the supporters and milking them for every penny with sky high prices and ridiculous additional charges that will rake in hundreds of thousands of pounds. Was probably the same last time, I can't remember, but 2007 was before the recession hit.
I reckon we'll end up with somewhere between 30-35k, probably nearer 30. Still a good effort.
