Think that says £1M from promotion including all the money they will get the next season, not £1m from the play offs

Wonder if we ever found out how much we were getting for Lambert's move to Liverpool?

Didn't TW suggest we'd lose a £1m by going down, £500K last season then another £500K gone this season from the final parachute payment? I don't think the £1m gain by newport going up includes the income from their promotion season?

You are correct. if we don't go up this season we lose the youth funding as well as the parachute payment so another £500k to cover.

I can't recall the reason given at the time.

I seem to remember Higgs saying that he couldn't find that out from the FA? It seemed a bit odd at the time, you would think that we would have a watertight contract and all of that stuff would be a matter of record?

I also remember at the time that the bulk of our payment was due in his 2nd Season with Liverpool because Southampton had first dibs on the money liverpool paid up front... Now our accounts talk about the "Lambert" payment making up the bulk of our transfer fees.... i just wonder if Southampton offered us a single reduced payment and not the staggered payments as per normal....

Or was that the Saints money after they got promoted to the Premiership the season before?
