In Clough the Blacktorn Terrace has a lovely target for Sunday. (Verbal obviously).

Not sure how many players FGR had held back but Gosling was already clear of the melee, Puddy was looking for a long throw down the middle.

Anybody know Clough personally/off the field/at his time with Rovers? Is he as unpleasant as he looks/tries to behave?

Saw Clough play for Bath at Twerton 2 or 3 years ago.He managed to get sent off inside 15 minutes.Very crude and thuggish performance .It looked ,at the time, that his career was going nowhere but he seems to have rebuilt via Sutton.Personally I hope the plays Sunday as he will react in the game as we saw last night

Clough could miss Sunday if the FA look at the first incident.

Clough could miss Sunday if the FA look at the first incident. They won't even have it referred as I believe only if the incident was not seen or addressed, can they intervene. That's how I have interpreted it. I have done some reading of rules this morning and it seem to me that the Yellow has covered him from intervention.

I think he's referring to the incident where Clough takes out Taylor from behind and the referee didn't even stop play even though Taylor is on the ground and could be suffering a head injury.

Well it's hardly a red card offence - he went through the back of Taylor clumsily and should have been booked but no more than that. Clutching at straws a bit there. Also, I don't want Clough to be out - I thought Taylor gave him a torrid evening.

I'm not sure Clough's challenge on Puddy was as bad as being made out, he went to volley a ball which Puddy snatched out the air in close quarters to Clough who was already mid swing. Much ado about nothing. Harrison's on Arnold was far worse and late, and he richly got what he deserved.
I don't agree with the bully boy tactics either, plenty of rough stuff from the Gas, and Matty Taylor certainly was not shy putting himself about in the opening spell of the first half.

That must have been terrifying for them.

Makes you wonder just how more deluded one fan can get?? I'll be generous and say hopefully it was a s**t view for him. Bit like being in Blackthorn and pretending you can REALLY see what goes on in a goalmouth scramble at the Tent end. I was on half-way line, deliberately to get a good view of all the match, and FGR genuinely were VERY dirty and in the ref's ear all the time. I could hear every word of some conversations.

YT I thought you'd posted that yourself for a minute or two!!
After Clough's performance last night I'd sooner he started on Sunday over Coles.

I watched the match again last night when I got home on BT and the ref was pretty well positioned to see the Clough kick at Puddy. As an ex-referee, who has refereed at just below the Conference Premier, that was a disgraceful decision! I said it at the time and seeing it later, confirmed it! Those sort of decisions make me sad to call myself a referee! The assistant could not have seen what happened as there were far too many players in the way. He consulted him, just to make it seem like the assistant had said that he had seen something else, so he didn't have to give the red card. How do I know this? Because I used to do exactly the same thing! However, I never ducked out of giving a red card if I saw something as blatant as that! By the way, I would probably have also given Ellis his first yellow, to try and calm him down after that fracas with Bennett, but that obviously didn't work and Darrell should have taken him off before he got his second yellow, which he did deserve!

That is so complete biased (and untrue) its actually quite sweet. Awwwww.
