He reacted like a total cock.

Immature reaction obviously, but I'm mighty relieved for him that his dismissal didn't cost us the win!

Now isn't any time for the blame game.
Finish the job Sunday and then analyse the two games after, we still have a job to do.

He should have been subbed. We were all saying it for at least 15 minutes. Silly from Clarke.

The sending off was caused by his first booking when he had no reason to be involved.

In a way it could work out okay. IF, we go through next Sunday, at least we know he will be available for Wembley.

Unfortunately DC will never win. Why? Rex & Stu were at game. Think his first booking was stupidity. But someone on pitch or sidelines should be saying don't get involved. Part of DCs job is pkayer management & this could be a crucial sending off.. or is ur view that DS isn't responsible?

He was a sending off waiting to happen. He could have been booked twice before he was actually booked for the first time. Ridiculous challenge on the keeper when you're on a yellow. DC should have subbed him before the inevitable happened.

I think he should have come off 5mins before the first booking! We were hitting long balls but nothing was sticking like in the first half... Blissett isn't always brlilliant but is gonna be awkward for any pair of centre backs to deal with.

The decision was harsh for both bookings, but obviously completely preventable and he needs to take a look at himself.
We though, need to make sure we don't get too fickle with him. Going from being accused of something he ended up being cleared of in court (and fans abusing him for it), to the best thing since sliced bread, back to villain is hardly us showing loyalty is it? He's clearly capable of playing higher, so lets get behind him and hope he does so with us.
Ellis is a young lad. I think most of us remember a certain young player in a huge game getting sent off unnecessarily (Beckham in WC98). You live and learn. This time it didn't cost us. I'm certain we wouldn't have scored again and if we can't defend the 1 goal lead then we don't deserve a play off final.
It was a great performance all in all. Very proud of the effort put in by the lads!

I thought he should have been subbed as well.
Clarkes comments after were pretty fair and show the man managent that he has. I imagine Clarke is kicking himself for not taking him off as well

Very proud of the effort put in by the lads! He gave the ref absolutely no choice for the second yellow. It was just dumb - not mailicious but it was a yellow card straight up. Of course the keeper sold it - any keeper would have done in that position. Sorry, he's completely let his team mates down there. Not the end of the world but very frustrating.

Unbelieveable how we are, win or lose, always trying to fry someone for a mistake. There was a thread for Puddy, then Brown, then Harrison in a space of what, one week? Jesus. Of course the booking and sending off were both stupid, ball was nowhere near him, etc., but it's NOT the end of the world by a long shot and I'm pretty sure he was forgiven in the locker room talk. We have a goal advantage to bring to the Mem and that's better than nothing. Ellis will be back for the finals and hopefully with a clearer head - I trust DC will sit down with him to talk, and his "tutor" Mansell also can help the lad.

I imagine Clarke is kicking himself for not taking him off as well Yep it seems a lot of us were saying he should have been taken off... you could tell he was getting more and more pumped up and a risk... I'm glad DC didn't publicly lay in to him too much as he was probably kicking himself a bit for not giving Blisset the last 25. As for taking his shirt off and kicking the corner flag, it's not great behaviour but at least it shows he cares and is gutted he's going to miss the second leg. He's got the potential to be a great player for us, he is young but he did make his league debut at Southampton 4 years ago... hopefully he gets the chance to deliver at Wembley then take lg2 by storm next season
