I'm quietly confident that we will prevail over 2 legs but, assuming I'm right, I have a nagging doubt about the final. The foul on Puddy at Dover, the Barnet corner that wasn't and the Gateshead disallowed goal that was were typical of the refereeing standard at this level. Are we due some good luck to balance things out or are the footballing gods against us? People talk about this being the biggest game in FGR's history but I think it's ours too. Rovers need to be back in the league ASAP.

feeling weird. are we really in the play-offs? sunny outside, but football to watch. a play-off before other lges have even finished their season. playing a self-confessed village team? (not being arrogant; I just think it is interesting how well FGR have done and how badly we have - first team ever to win the FA Vase and later be in the FA Trophy final) another big game on sunday. then either one more match or nothing until august. weird. end of the season always is. Was always a peculiar thing, supporting a football club, you can't really explain it, you can only experience it. So it will either be or

Trying to compare it to previous play offs. We go into them on a massive roll like 2007 but also after being up there all season like in 1998 and 1995... no idea how to feel!

Long time reader, first time poster. I live in Dallas, Texas, the game kicks off here at 1.45pm. From what i've read and seen of the team this year i'm feeling very confident that the boys will get a result today; 2 or 3 nil. I was living in Bristol the last time we were in the playoffs and remember when we went to Lincoln and put 5 past them in the away leg so a repeat of that would be just lovely. Up the gas! Welcome Texasgas, great to hear from you. One of the best away matches I've experienced at Lincoln. I'm lucky to have got a ticket for tonight, I hope it goes down as a memory to savour in years to come. Where I live in South Wales the weather is just brightening up so hopefully will give the pitch a bit of time to dry out over in Stroud country. Great to have your support... UTG ! Thanks Bridgeman, I hope all of the travelling support tonight comes away with a feeling of victory. Getting tickets sounds like a nightmare, I remember back in 06/07 queuing up for tickets to the Lincoln home game I believe it was. I was actually just behind Chris Lines' mum, great to see him back at the club. There's nothing quite like a local player with real passion in his heart for the club!

They did? Really? It must have been an illusion when I saw Parks run, un opposed, through the midfield, set up the pass and cross and then score, unopposed from the cross.
No, if we play like that with Chris Lines playing as he did, I am confident against any team in this league from what I have witnessed. Over to you DC...please don't go back and do a "Dover" Please!!!
Seconded. If we don`t go up this season, that Dover game is going to haunt me for a long long time. Yes it could have been dover game where we f***ed up,but then you could pick any of the 16 games we drew It was a 90th minute equaliser that was ultimately our undoing last season vs Acc Stanley Should really be killing teams off a lot more when we go 1 up in a games , oh well it is rovers after all

I hope that there isnt a massive overreaction if we lose by the odd goal tonight, Cambridge finished 2nd last season and lost their first leg 1-0 before beating Halifax 2-0 at home.
Lets hope it doesnt come to that though.

They'll wipe us off the planet, storm to mid-table in League 1 from where they'll drop like a stone to the Conference South, go bust and start again in black and white stripes in some local Cotswold league in front of 20 stalwarts.

I hope we can win and win comfortably tonight. However, I would be happy with a draw.

My concern is that in the Alfreton game even though we scored 7, they exposed our midfield on several occasions where a better team would certainly have made more of it. I'd take a draw but I think we should go out for the win. You're right. The first 15 minutes gave Alfreton a couple of chances and their left winger worried me until we scored and then hit confident form and played some cracking, on the floor football We need to be ready from the kick off and not warm into it. Puddy gives momentum with his throwing to feet. I feel more confident now I know Puddy is in goal, sounds daft I know but he doesn't slow the game down and utilises any forward space we gain.

I am a pessimist and have a gut feeling we will trip up here. I was always worried about facing FGR or Eastleigh as they have taken 4 points off us this season. I know this means nothing now but surely is a slight psychological advantage knowing we havent beaten them. I like the lad Frear on the wing for them, if we can keep him quiet we have a chance of a positive result tonight. I hear David Pipe may be playing in central midfield, there is a sending off waiting to happen if we are clever!! You played for FGR though so you have an insight to how they go about the game. I have felt the nerves too but we are a different team to the one they last played. We actually have a forward presence and Ellis is certainly becoming the tricky player we hoped he would. 1-3 or 0-3 Gas. Ellis to score a brace.
