Following Sainsbury's, Pearce's Hardware Store and the Welly [oh... it's OK to use the Welly again], here's the latest Bristol business to boycott: BNS managing director Andrew Simmonds, has given his comment on tomorrow's play off game between Forest Green Rovers and Bristol Rovers. Andrew said: “We are proud of our partnership with Forest Green Rovers which came about because of our shared interest in green and sustainable living. “Since becoming sponsors we have been delighted with the progress of the team and what it has achieved both on and off the pitch. Why should I boycott someone for their commercial arrangements?
Sponsoring a non-league football club isn't the crime of the century

I find it quite sad that we now have to destroy the dreams of a club and supporters I once had a soft spot for.

You pays your money and takes your choice, but if I was a business based in a predominantly Rovers part of the city, I would have chosen my words just a little more carefully for that interview Mr Simmonds.

It is what the MD of a Downend based, client facing business says he hopes will happen to Rovers that disturbs me. Like I say, I think he should have chosen his words much more carefully. |

Still you can choose to keep your busniess with them if you like - I won't be. |

I would rather he support us, but if he doesn't I can't really see a problem. BTW Downend isn't as solid Gas as you may think.

Yes, I no longer go to Sainsbury's for anything, including walking past one to get coffee from Tesco metro of all places for work.
And I agree the comments from Mr Simmonds deserve some negativity.
