This tension and anxiety is hell but would any of us swop it for being Woking or Halifax supporters going into the last game with nothing but pride to play for?
Today is what football is all about and unfortunately the pressure both for players and supporters comes with it. For the majority of teams and fans today is just about going out and enjoying 90 minutes of football and then feet up for the summer. The pressure, anxiety, emotion and everything else is reserved for those few teams who have something left to play for.
We are one of those teams so lets take the chance with both hands and firstly go out and do our part by winning and then hope that the Football Gods take care of Barnet for us.
Be proud today and think ourselves lucky that we are taking part in a game that has some meaning. These games come around on far too few occasions and just remember we have all the summer for our nails to grow!!! UTG

We let slip any real chance of this game being meaningful at Dover in the 88th minute.

matealotblue, I expect Wycombe supporters thought that last Season when they went in to the final game having lost to us the week before. Who knows,Gateshead could be the Mansfield of last Season but we have to make sure that, unlike last week we fulfil our side of the bargain. At least this year if things do go wrong there is another chance! UTG

Sadly hopes and prayers are all we are left with for this game. I would love to be optimistic but really can't find it in me. To win this game - which I think we will do - and then think of what might have been if we hadn't been so generous last week is really a downer for me. Almost a game I don't want us to win so that I can console myself that it wasn't going to happen automatically anyway.

But even if we had won last Saturday, I expect we`d have found a way to f**k up today. Still, as someone else pointed out, Wycombe must have thought they were down and out last season. Perhaps things will even themselves up today. Whatever happens, ( playoffs or not ) I just hope Clarke gives us the best possible chance of a return to the Football League, by picking players in their natural positions. Another 90 minutes of watching Matty Taylor stuck uselessly out on the wing, as he was against Dover, would be too much to bear.

Off to the pub shortly and then back to the pub after the game. I'm hoping all this... erm... celebration isn't a little premature!

We dropped points through the season, and that was our real chance
