Port Vale manager interviewed just on Radio Stoke.Said," He has a future here but I can understand his frustration with our other mid fielders doing so well, but with a year on his contract still to run he's got a future at this club".(Personally ,I hope he stays with Rovers whatever league we'll be in but seems we'd have to pay for him.)

I think we'd do well to get him even if we go up. Solid league one player.

You could see the way he felt as he walked off last on Saturday! Shaking his head, he looked really down. He's a gashead through and through!

He's brought some passing quality to the team, but when everyone else wants to play kick and chase it's hard for him to become the dominant player.

I reckon if we go up,we might get him,but as his wage is being fully paid by us,it's a big ask.

I bet PV couldn't believe their luck when we offered to pay his full wages, given that Tubbs wanted £2K+ p.w. we must be paying around £3K+ p.w. for Lines? I assume if PV want himk off thier books they'll have to buy up his contract in the summer?

I know the refs are shocking in this division but I feel he could really do with just getting on with the game rather than standing still complaining to the ref when he feels a tackle was too aggressive.

It will just be posturing I would expect. At this stage, we could still be going up to League Two and they may be able to get a small fee out of us if we want him back on a permanent basis. It wouldn't make sense for them to declare he has no future there at this stage, even if that is what they think behind the scenes.

I reckon mildis wage will go on lines, is that why puddy is getting a chance?

No, we have to pay Mildy till his contract runs out and I think you will find he won't get offered another or it will be on a much reduced wage.I have a feeling that next season we will see a new number 1 come in and Puddy will have the chance to be No 2.

Chris Lines is quality, he has helped BRFC get to where they are today, and in doing put a large number on the match day attendance; with a packed MEM this weekend, and the massive revenue the club will get from the play offs, 3k per week for Linsey is well worth it IMO. UTG

Mildy already has a new deal for next season on the same wages, he triggered the renewal under an appearance clause, when he signed for us it was a '2 year deal with a 1 year option', i questioned why the club had handed out another 3 year deal and was criticised for it with the majority shouting that it was a 2 year deal, not taking into consideration that a senior keeper will easily trigger any appearance clause in his deal. Mildy has gone through a blip at times this season, but every player does and i see no reason why he cannot continue being our number 1 next season, although from a financial point of view giving Puddy a £750 per week deal next season will save a fortune compared to what Mildy is on. On the subject of Lines, when you sign a senior player usually at least 75% of the wages will be covered by the club taking that player, the parent club will only look at covering the majority of the wages if there desperate to get rid, which Port Vale weren't he was just out of favour there and looking to return home to his family. I think if we get promoted he will sign here, and will be a major player for us in League 2, the quality of his free kicks and corners and the quality he has in possession and creativity in midfield he has is clear to see from the handful of games he has played so far.

I ownder if fans knew Mildy was on twice Puddy's wage they'd be calling for his return on Saturday? As far as Puddy's wages saving a fortune next season surely that will only be the case if we can move Mildy on rather than have him sat on the bench?
As far as Lines what's the difference between being out of favour and desperate to get rid/off the pay roll?
