Think Alfreton will also be difficult. They have a reason to fight for points. Gateshead do not. Think that will be a vital difference on the day. Yeovil won away at Swindon yesterday. I'd put that down to new manager "bounce" with players having "clean sheets" to impress the new man. Not sure that is the same scenario as a Gateshead team running out of steam at seasons end. But the reality will be known to all next week.

He tried to catch it as it would have been an easy catch if he wasn't pushed.

You can't tell from that video what happened but great stuff from Jake again, he's a good lad stood right behind him Saturday and he was very composed when he got hit on the head several times from the scarf that I was waving around my head after we scored....sorry Jake !

I was on a major downer last night but WTF promotion is still in our own hands. I think there will be less pressure on the team under these circumstances for the final game and if Barnet don't slip up, we can beat anyone in the playoffs. Having watched the disjointed, stumbling performance yesterday, I doubt if we can beat anyone in the play offs. Could be slightly re-written to - Having watched the disjointed, stumbling performance yesterday against a team in 8th place and with a decent home record, I doubt if we will win the away leg in the play offs, but will probably get a draw, and having watched nearly all home matches, I think we could get a home win and advance to Wembley.

One game - very difficult opponents. Don't forget the excellent performances v Aldershot, Chester, Kidderminster & Southport in the last few weeks. Think Alfreton will also be difficult. They have a reason to fight for points. Gateshead do not. Think that will be a vital difference on the day. Alfreton need to better whatever Welling do, and as Welling are in form and at home, and playing a team all but mathematically safe, Alfreton surely really need to win in order to have any decent chance of staying up. Strangely that helps us IMO, as it could be harder, and more frustrating, to break down a team parking the bus, than a team hopefully trying to win the match. Expect some open spaces and counter-attacking. It could be a roller coaster ride!

EDIT - I take it all back! Watching the Dover version of the video and the slow-mo, it seems clear that Modeste's outstretched arm makes a grab for Puddy and this causes him to spill the ball - Thanks Dover!
Manager's decision and I'd hope that Will Puddy is keen to make up it and Steve Mildenhall is straining at the leash to show what he can do.

I'm afraid that the official video makes the gaff look worse. Yes there was pressure in the box, but Puddy was not pushed and seems to me to have spilled the ball. Manager's decision and I'd hope that Will Puddy is keen to make up for the mistake and Steve Mildenhall is straining at the leash to show what he can do. EDIT - I take it all back! I thought the video made it look like a foul. Opinions eh?
Still, we got a draw which was about all we deserved, all we can do now is go out and beat Alfreton.

Sorry Rex. I watched it again and the slow motion from the extended Dover version and I now agree with you. Modeste fouled Puddy.

Ah! - So, does this mean Puddy is tall enough again now?

Regardless, I'd personally feel happier with Mildenhall, but won't lose sleep if Puddy gets the nod.
