This is pathetic. Mildenhall can't do a thing wrong as far as some are concerned but in general Mildenhall has been poor this season compared to previous years. He has stopped coming for crosses. Puddys handling today was faultless except for one error. It is very easy to point to this and that but the fact is that Puddy has been decent and has made very few errors. I don't know how you could see the error coming today when his handling was faultless until the goal. Get behind the players-if they didn't make mistakes they would be playing in the Premiership. Except for the one error which cost us the game and having one hand on the trophy? I agree Mildenhall hasn't had his greatest season but he's still by far in a way a better keeper than Puddy. As I said, he's a satisfactory back up keeper but doesn't have the presence and assurance to be first choice in my opinion. I've already pointed to two potential game changing moments in recent weeks where he got out of jail. There's been countless other moments of indecision between him and the defence when he's featured. We're now at the business end of the season where the pressure is cranked up a notch and the margins are small so experience is key. You're right, all players make mistakes which is why they are at this level. Mildenhall has made mistakes. But the difference being that he didn't make potentially decisive mistakes every other game. I was surprised DC remained with Puddy after the Macclesfield game.

Can't recall ANY mistakes by Puddy in the Macclesfield game and no error can compare with Mildys v Eastleigh and Dartford and too many free kicks going past him for my liking. Used to rate Mildy but this season he has not performed anywhere near his best and Puddy deserves to be No 1. I would be looking for a new No 1 for next season as I can't see Mildy staying on hugely reduced wages and I don't feel Puddy is tall enough to be a number 1.

Milds shouldn't have been recalled for Dartford game as Puddy was in the in form keeper and should have kept his place. Now having dropped Milds for costly mistake DC has no option but to do the same with Puddy.

Puddy shouldnt have been dropped first time. Milds looked shot when he came back.
Stop trying to apportion blame

I'm still not sure about their goal but otherwise I thought that Puddy had a sound game. I can remember him gathering the ball cleanly a number of times, and he was quick off his line. His distribution was generally good. Perhaps he should wave at the fans more and slap the badge!!!

If we are to get back in the Football league I feel it is apparent we need a new goalkeeper.

Let's get there first before worrying about that!
Perhaps the footballing God's have decided it's Barnet's year for straight promotion, or they are just keeping us waiting until week, as it's simply unexplainable why Puddy would drop a cross as it's not something I can recall him doing all season, unlike "flapper' Mildenhall.

I think that both Puddy and Mildy are decent keepers and both have contributed to us still being in with a chance of winning the title. The problem is that keepers are the last line of defence and a simple error of judgment can be the difference between winning or losing a match whereas outfield players have players around them who can make up for mistakes.I say stick with Puddy as dropping him now would be a big blow to his confidence which is the last thing we want to happen at this stage of the season. It's still in our hands and am confident we will get promotion by one means or the other.UTG.

I hope for Wills sake that for once things go our way next weekend otherwise I fear it will be hard for him.to shake what happened yesterday and fans will get on his back much quicker.

Personally I would like to see the goal again before totally blaming him as it was up the other end and there are the following scenarios as far as I am concerned. 1) He made a poor mistake and tried to retrieve it and was then fouled- a mistake 2) He was fouled and made no mistake 3) He made a poor mistake but was not fouled at all - a mistake It is very easy to lay blame from a distance the full length of the pitch but even on Dover's site they say it was a foul on the keeper in which case it was yet another poor decision by a Conference Official who was in a position where he would have had a clear view. Apart from the goal Puddy gave a very good performance. We are very quick to aportion blame.
