I've been ticked off by my boss for sloppy mistakes in e-mails, and he was right. I was representing my employer and it looked careless and unprofessional. Kirsty is meant to be Rovers PR FFS! When an organisation is in freefall, which BRFC is, if you want to turn that around then you need to make it clear to everyone that from now on, second best is not good enough. This clearly hasn't happened at Rovers, and it bodes very ill for how effective the 'top to bottom' review has been. Can someone point gaz in this posts direction! Spot on that man!

to be fair if people worry about grandma on Twatter, they'd be best off looking at something else as it must drive them mental.
Errors on twitter are almost unavoidable (indeed my laptop has taken to changing things after I press tweet and before it sends it)so frankly I don't really care about the 'how' as long as 'what' (ie the message) gets out reasonably clearly.
What does wind me up is website, where its so easy to draft, print read (or get a colleague to)then issue. We are a tiny company with same no of employees as BRFC and we issues 4x more on websites than club does, and my boss would have run out of official warnings in a month if she ran BRFC like she runs our website. The website is the reflection of our business and my firms professionalism and accordingly we take it very seriously.
BRFCs continued inability to get it right is embarrassing at times.
Also we are all gagging for news, or at least being kept 'warm' that things are happening and best we can do is a discount of £3 on a beach towel....seriously?
We've asked several times for a list of Directors and the role they play in the club - nothing. Surely that's far more relevant than the Bristol ROvers connection to Algeria or other WC combatants.
We've asked for info re intentions re scouting - surely someone could sit Darrell down for 5 mins and ask a key questions for his thoughts on where we should be going with that, or a million other subjects on the football side of things (reserve team, link between youths, development and first team etc etc)
For example why not do another item about EGM tonight and whose attending from Football club etc..........(they know as its been leaked via Gaslist) so the towel thing is just ill judged filler on clearly the wrong day.

I'm distraught over this news. I thought that we were signing top quality young beach towels that could possibly move on to a Champions League sun lounger in the future. Instead we have journeyman beach towels that already need to be discounted in the middle of a heat wave.

It's not pedantic. It's just another sign that no one seems to give a s*** about getting things right at the club. No one expects them to produce press releases and notices of sublime prose, or that there will never be any typo's. But if they can't be arsed to simply read through what they've just written for public consumption it doesn't make a good impression. Whilst the op was indeed being pedantic, the above takes the biscuit on that front! The club don't give a sh*t because they made a typo on Twitter?! Come on now! I know we are all angry and a bit fed up at the moment, but seriously this sh*t slinging is getting a bit much now. No, I said it's just another sign no one seems to give a s**t, not 'the club don't give a s**t because....'

Grammatically incorrect posts on Twitter, sh*t that's either news to them or their share price is going to collapse.

Does anyone know whether Kirsty is dyslexic?
Happens way too often not to be, surely?

Instead we have journeyman beach towels that already need to be discounted in the middle of a heat wave. Yes, not merely journeyman beach towels, but clearly shoddy and quite possibly used journeyman beach towels. They may even be flannels or oversized face cloths masquerading as beach towels. You'd have to question their absorbency, especially in match conditions: clearly one for the much lauded car boot extravaganza .

It is time the fans on here woke up, smelt the Comfort, and realised where we are. This is a non league airing cupboard! The days of big signings like John-Jo O'Towel are long gone, we can barely afford a face flannel.

I know we are all angry and a bit fed up at the moment, but seriously this sh*t slinging is getting a bit much now. It happens on a weekly basis though which is why many feel the club don't give a s*** and are taking the piss. The more we moan about it the more it happens, hardly strikes me as a professional company striving to make improvements. The tweet would have taken only a few minutes to read through a couple of times to make sure it was good to go, there's nothing going on at the moment, i bet the BRFC offices are very quiet. Taking the care free 'what's the problem' attitude is why we have fallen out of the football league. I was just going to "like" this but I think, for me anyway, this is the nub of the problem and needed highlighting.
The Club seem to be happy with their lot, complacent and lack pride. That attitude and culture can only come from the top and, as much as DC will try to stop it, it will spill onto the pitch.
An internal review stands zero chance of picking it up because the standards are set by the examiners.
Twerton: you are correct that sort of grammar is perfectly (in my opinion wrongly and sadly) acceptable on Twitter but we are dealing here with a public profile company in a very large city which should be looking to improve its image. Instead it just puts two fingers up to everyone in a very arrogant manner. This specific example may well have been ignored by everyone if the Club did not have a history which they created themselves. If they don't realise they are under the microscope by possibly in excess of 40,000 and a potential 10,000 paying customers they must be mad.
