After the game at Kidderminster, I overheard some disgruntled comments from some home fans. It was probably about this: Read more at www.harriers.co.uk/news/article/east-stand-offer-club-addresses-season-ticket-holders-moved-vs-bristol-rovers-2403268.aspx#Iam6SMQtO8euU0KQ.99"Kidderminster Harriers Football Club would like to again apologise that some season ticket holders were unable to access their normal seats on Easter Monday. The Club became aware at very short notice that approximately 300 Bristol Rovers supporters were planning to make the journey to Aggborough without tickets. It was felt that if they were not admitted this may lead to some security issues and put at risk our own supporters. Should it have been necessary to involve the police, the Club would have been met with a hefty police bill which would have been ‘double time’ on a bank holiday. The decision was reluctantly taken to allocate more of the East Stand to away supporters than was originally intended, resulting in some season ticket holders not being able to sit in their normal seat. We realise that this has, without doubt, caused some distress and inconvenience and as a gesture of goodwill the Club would like to offer those affected free admittance to a pre-season friendly fixture of your choice ahead of 2015/16". Anyway, I'm sure they'll put in a good shift on Saturday. I think they can make life difficult for the Bees...

If they beat Barnet, the very least the club could do is offer the affected fans the opportunity to attend all of our preseason friendlies for free as well.

Did the extra 300 get in free of charge, or did they pay on the day?
Exactly the same situation was being debated following the recent Alfreton v Grimsby fixture. Alfreton season ticket holders in the sparsely populated home areas were asked to move to accommodate an influx of extra Grimsby fans (I'll admit I don't know whether they were with or without tickets) and some were upset at the situation.
In both cases, one would assume that a few thousand pounds of extra revenue would be welcome by the clubs and long standing fans would appreciate that more than the minor inconvenience of moving seat, but I suppose you can't tell what your reaction would be until it happened to you.
The lockout at Woking shows the other extreme.
On the last point - I live in hope!

What if they beat Barnet and we lose to Dover?
If that happened I'd stick my head in a oven.

What if they beat Barnet and we lose to Dover? If that happened I'd stick my head in a oven. If it was an electric oven, it would take some fortitude to leave your head in until you shuffle off. If it was a gas oven, you'd need a match as natural gas won't kill you.

I'm sure they won't face that problem again for a very long time..

How did Kiddy know 300 fans where travelling without tickets, I doubt it's something the fans would boardcast on social media etc? Does anybody else smell a rat here, as would so many fans travel that far on the off chance they'd get in? What's the betting Kiddy sold the tickets before the match themselves?

It appeared there was a sterile area between both sets of seated supporters that the non ticket arriving supporters were placed in but it didn't look like 300 to me, more like 50/60. So not sure why Kiddi suggested they moved season ticket holders to another place. There have been various comments that this was arranged on the spur of the moment involving the Police and the Stewards plus it has been said some of these fans were allowed in free of charge. I know I overheard a brief conversation between one of our non ticket supporters with cash in his hand talking to a steward who told him it was an all ticket match but he appeared to move him to a separate turnstile and presumably allowed him in. Really pleased that common sense was applied with our supporters at this game

I'm sure this was a little joke, but just in case it wasn't, or if any young or foolish readers are on this forum, natural gas will kill you if inhaled for more than a few seconds. Probably best not to test it.

I met a West Brom fan getting off the train who was going to our game. He didn't know it was all ticket until I told him - he bought a spare off me but a steward also told him he'd have no trouble buying one in the club offices

I also had a group of adult lads sat next to me in the family enclosure who'd clearly got in with out tickets. It's just as well we won fairly easily as things might have turned out differently!

Something Woking could learn a lot from. As to gasmacc suggesting in some way we have antagonised them, um lost on that it was Kidderminster that made all the decisions that day. Perhaps we should've really antagonised them & only taken the usual 100 away conference fans? Would've helped their financial problems no end. On botg

Yep, sounds like bulls**t. Sounds like they just wanted to take a more pragmatic approach to getting our money than Woking did. And yet another example of the sort of contempt football fans are held in, even as paying customers. In this case, blaming Rovers fans for f**king over Kiddy fans, when in fact it was Kiddy FC f**king over their own fans while taking our money.
