October 2nd this year marks the 60th anniversary of Geoff Bradford's England cap and goal against Denmark. Hopefully the club will do something to celebrate arguably Rovers finest sons one and only cap.

I was kind of hoping they'd do something for the 25th anniversary of the Div 3 title season but nothing's been mentioned.

I wrote to the club a few years back suggesting we mark the 75th anniversary of Bristol Rovers beating the Dutch national team. Received a response saying it was a good suggestion and that they would look to do something...still waiting...maybe they'll do something when its the 100 year anniversary!!

Well I may start a fund raiser for a Bradford flag, anything donated over the top of the costs going to cancer charities?

I suggested to Club about the 25th anniversary of 1990 side saw Billy Clark at the match yesterday he was sat behind us with Andy Tillson. Don't think they were too impressed with the current side ! Penrice and Holloway, Reece, McClean, Twentyman, Alexander, Jones, Yates, Martyn, Parkin etc Feel sure fans would love to see them back celebrating their achievement in 1990.
Also its 110 years on 25 April that Rovers won their first ever championship The Southern league in 1904/05 ..that needs celebrating too

Blimey, did we? I never knew that, could you give us all a few more details? I think it was in 1930 and we beat the Dutch national team 3-2 away. They were a lowly national team at the time and from what I have read it was seen as a useful game for them to play an established club side from England. I don't understand why the club doesn't make more of this as its a great part of our history and something we should be proud of. I still apply the 'schoolboy logic' in that if the last time we played you, we beat you, then we are better than you so in my eyes whenever I see Holland mixing it in the latter stages of the World Cup I still say to myself yeah but we're better than you. We also played a friendly again in the 1930s against AC Milan at the San Siro. We lost that match 3-1 so yeah ok AC Milan are better than us.

Yes Rovers did beat the National Dutch side in 1930
from the superb Bristol Rovers Definitive History
Just twenty-four hours after a tough league fixture, and following an overnight North Sea crossing, Rovers defeated the Dutch national side 3-2 on Sunday 16 November 1930. This historic result was one that, it has to be said, Rovers were a touch fortunate to achieve. The intrinsic skills of the Dutch side, and notably twenty-two-year-old outside-right Adje Gerritse, were remarkable, and centre-forward Gerrit Hulsman scored twice, though the second was apparently from an offside position. Nonetheless, two goals from Ronnie Dix and one from the ever-reliable Attwood earned Rovers a notable victory. A couple of days later, Rovers defeated the top Dutch side Swallows 4-2 in a game played under floodlights.

It needs to be MASSIVE I would imagine that Geoff Bradford might have been a little embarrassed by that. He always struck me as a very modest person, and not at all gregarious. In fact a man of his time.
