but as Jimmy Greaves was fond of saying "it's a funny old game", so who knows ! Did you have to quote an an Ex-Barnet player, no matter how good he was? I think we can easily beat dover. I mean seriously, they were Conference South last season the same level as Alfreton are headed. 6 points for us no problem.

Wasn't aware Jimmy played for them (thought it was his son Danny) but as a very young lad in the 60's and 70's he was my hero, picture on the bedroom wall etc. Of course my all time hero was Alfie Biggs but in those days sadly his picture never appeared in any of the football magazines to allow me to put up his picture....awwww ! I'm confident that we have the ability to beat Dover and Alfreton but we have to earn the right to beat them.....UTG !

Saturday's result (Chester 3, Dover 1) seems to confirm this, especially as we beat Chester fairly comfortably on Good Friday. But then again the form book does go out of the window sometimes at this point in the season. I heard the manager saying recently how opposition teams raise their game against BRFC, but I still think that we'll get two wins out of two this season. Whether that will be enough, we'll have to just wait and see.

One peek at the kiddy forum and the supporters are begging for Barnet to go up! Purely on the basis that 'Brizzle will always bring 1k + to aggborough! Let's hope the players aren't sent out with similar knowledge!!!

Shocked to see more votes for 2nd. Positivity! i don't see why it could be classified as shocking to vote for '2nd'. for me it's (a) realistic, and (b) based on evidence, form and stats. I think we will both win our last 2 games, and thus we'll end up 2nd, with a staggering 93 points. annoying? yes negative? no Do i hope we get the title? of course Do i think a fit, in form barnet team will suddenly slip up, with no injuries / suspensions? No, sadly not.

Weren't we thinking the same after we beat Wycombe? Perhaps fate is going to return and do us a favour this time?

Given the history of Hereford & Salisbury last season, if I was a kiddie fan I'd be more worried about going bust in the next 6 months than who does or doesn't get promoted. the summer is a cruel time for cash-strapped football clubs. no income, and all the sweeties in the shop window have already been sold.
