Smith has another year left on his deal so not too concerned if he doesn't sign the extension that's been offered. Santos is pretty much being held to ransom, if he leaves then his new club will have to go to a tribunal and possibly pay well over what he is worth, it's up to the club to accept any transfer bids, the club hold all the cards with Santos and he doesn't get much of say on his future because we have offered him the deal and he is under 24. According to my source Brown should be signing a 1 year deal, nice to see a bit of loyalty from him, 1 year suits all parties, he will stay and try and help get us promoted, if we don't he will no doubt move onto a league club.

Lee Brown is (rightly) waiting to see if he can get a deal with a league side before committing to Rovers. Rovers offering Brown a deal means any side wanting him will have to pay compensation.

We hold nothing other than the fact we have offered him a contract and a tribunal will decide what Hull have to pay unless we agree a fee

Sensible move by the club to offer all three new contracts. It means we either get 3 players who want to be here (by signing their individual deals) or three players that want to move on (although Smith is under contract anyway) and will require a fee/compensation fee. Hopefully all three will sort out their futures before pre season. It will then give us time to replace them if required.

If Smith,a player who could definitely stay FL in 4th or 3rd tier stays then fair play to the bloke.

Can't really see how it is up to Santos whether he stays or go. He can only go if his agent finds a club willing to make us an acceptable offer or a club willing to face the vagaries of a tribunal.
Personally I'll be amazed, but delighted, if Brown is still here come kick off.

If Hull are still interested he is able to sign for them and it will be up to a tribunal to decide how much they would have to pay us

Like i said in my earlier post, if it goes to tribunal they could end up paying way over the odds for him, a gamble that i don't think they will take, hence why they are going down the bidding route.

A young father .. Has encountered problems where he lives ... Hull have Bristol connections through Rosenior.. I think Santos will go one way or another as the opportunity for development and earning potential inline with his new family responsibilities make this a very attractive proposition for him

Not concerned about Santos leaving; would like both Brown and Smith to stay; however, they are both too good for the conference, so would not blame them if they wanted to move on. UTG

Exactly WCG at present Santos has one definate contract offer and a maybe. At the end of the day if no-one wants to stump up money for him he'll have two options sign our contract or have no job. Personally at the end of last season the only thing that would've amazed me more than Brown still being here for the kick off was Santos having been sold to anyone. PS: if he stays then I truly hope he turns into a Rovers legend but I have little faith that will happen

Santos just posted on Facebook that it's "not true" that he's leaving Rovers, I can only hope it's really not true
And Brown is very likely about to sign a 1-year deal with us, and frankly I don't doubt it, the lad's a very loyal player and he probably feels he needs to help clean up the mess before leaving for good.
