Can you believe it... Eight years ago today 1 April 2007 we were all getting rather excited about going to the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff for the JPT Final with Doncaster Rovers. It was a wonderful day out and an entertaining game in the Welsh capital. Despite the defeat in extra time we went on a superb run to clinch promotion via the Wembley Play Offs.
You have to ask yourselves where did it all go wrong after that tremendous period in the Club's history.

It certainly was a great day out - Me and Mrs BC were caught on film singing the National Anthem, and had our image broadcasted across the country via Sky TV, and also captured in time forever on the DVD of the game.
I remember talking to a business associate and close friend after both this and the Wembley play off final, and saying with enthusiasm how the club must capitalise on this good fortune!!
And here we are fighting to become a football league club ............... Yup enough said.

Letting LL go - PT was not the same after his departure, but of course this will be out for debate [again]

Blimey, was it 8 years sgo? I remember making it a weekend, days when we used to travel to home and away games. That season and the following season, Fulham and Leeds stick in my mind. That should have been a base from which the club could have moved on and pushed for the Championship. Instead gross mismanagement of our resources took us in the opposite direction. Even now, really. The club favoured to be champions of the non league have been kicked out of their ground, rent one from a local authority in another London Borough, and attract gates that at best are 50% lower than ours. I cannot work it out, can anyone?

What an amazing couple of months of supporting the Gas that was! From the JPT final to an amazing run in with some of the best away games ever (Hartlepool, Lincoln) finished off with Wembley.
I'll always remember the equaliser against Doncaster and a couple of guys going flying down the stairs! Bodies were flying everywhere!

Appalling decision making by the now owner of the club backed up by a catalogue of lies and excuses. Ron Craig was a proud chairman that day and a few weeks later when we won promotion at Wembley.
Higgs has been a disaster.

That's what I keep getting told anyway.

Those were the days! We were in a boozer around the corner from the ground in Cardiff talking about how amazing (and unlikely) it would be to get to Wembley! That really was an achievement!
Well I guess you have to experience the bad time to appreciate the good....... Please BRFC give me (and now my kids) some happy times again!

my recollection, which probably has a mix of facts and memories......
we were a mid-table L2 side until mid-January. We played tippy tappy pretty football but didn't win we went on a brilliant run, with Walks, Lambo and Dis delivering key goals. Something clicked but it wasn't clear what. It might have been that the Duke of Beaufort blue took time to work its magic great day out at Cardiff in the sunshine. One Rovers fan thumped another a bit in front of me, and the thumped was taken away by security. His father was there and the thump's son, who was bemused. I really felt for the father on such a big day the great day out seemed to give us confidence, and we were the form side in the play-offs. Walks scored his Bergkamp goal at Wembilee, and Big Game Sammy gave it the Hollywood finish
we did OK in L1, finished mid-table-ish second season looked like more of the same. The Board decided to back Trolls in buying tippy tappy players who could take us up again (it was felt that the existing lot had done really well, but couldn't take us higher) the big money on the tippy-tappies just didn't work. Snowflake and Andy Williams and the like everyone wanted rid of Lazy Lennie we never really recovered. And the money was spent

You're right there, the sun was shining but there was also a bitterly cold wind. Before the match kicked-off I walked through a park just behind the stadium, and it very nearly cut me in two.

what would it take to be a REAL disaster ? maybe 149 innocent people murdered by a crazy German thats a disaster a football club being relegated is very trivial compared to that
