....great second half performance last night.
Easter is just class in this league. Everything just sticks to him as if he has his own gravity!
He appears to have more time on the ball. Elegant and graceful. Only question is his size. He is quite bulky.
We passed our way through Aldershot, whom deserve plaudits for trying to take game to us, and a few times the last ditch cut outs were critical from their point of view, or we would be away one on ones.
Overall, a professional performance in second half, and considering Monkhouse face (he needed stitches) we were up for the fight to win the title... UptheGas!

Thought the boys played well last night, particularly happy to see Linesey back in midfield and Easter was quality, we are lucky to have him. UTG

I think Easter has a lot more to give when he gets up to speed with his match fitness, a few times he got caught in possession due to being a little off the pace. But still did enough first 40 mins to show he is a class act.
Loved the way he closed people down quickly and forced them into errors, we have missed that all season.
Thought we missed Mansell last night, but with Easter's class god help any side we play that also has Mansell or Sinclair alongside Linesy.
Now that would be some team!
nb this is not a criticism of Easter !

First 20 mins excellent tempo and looked like we we would be able to build a comfortable half time lead, then it became comedy time in defence and we might have gone in at the break behind as we conceded the second half of the first half to them.
Second half much better and those two goals in three minutes had us well on top. But why do we then try and still play the game at 100 mph? When you are 3-1 up with 20 mins to go it should all be about possession and managing out the game, especially in a game that it was as important to win as this. However we kept on at the same pace taking risks we didn't need to take. It all worked out well but it ain't good for the ticker!

I agree 100% with the comments about Jermaine Easter, a real class act particularly at the level that we're presently at.
But what a shame that a deal couldn't have been struck earlier in the season for him to come here, for us to feel the full benefit of his signing. And of course once he did sign, he picked up that unfortunate injury. Still looking on the bright, side we can admire his skills until the end of next season at the earliest.

I know retaining possession is important to see a game out but due to the fact that the distribution from our defence (Parkes generally excluded) is so poor we seem to play into our opponents hands by passing the ball back to them and leaving them no option but to hoof it and give away possession. I am sure in the summer DC will be looking for a quick ball playing defender to play alongside Parkes which I believe was his intention with Jamie Turley. At the moment I would prefer to see us passing the ball forward more often on the floor or giving it to Lin es or Dawson to run at the opponents. I am sure that Monkhouse can also do this as he showed last night on occasions. The pass down the line for Brown is OK as a plan B rather than the only plan which gets a bit predictable.

I was very impressed with Jermaine last night: his pace, his chasing, his interplay, his closing down the defenders, but he was far from the finished article. Like you say, there were a few times (I counted at least 3), either side of half-time, with the scores level, that he lost possession easily, when we had good opportunities to break. Like you say, this isn't a criticism, it's not really surprising he may be a bit rusty, with this being only his 5th start of the season, and not long back from injury. It makes me wonder what an exciting prospect he will be once up to full speed and full fitness.

And of course once he did sign, he picked up that unfortunate injury. Still looking on the bright, side we can admire his skills until the end of next season at the earliest. We approached him in early November. It took him a long time to decide to drop down to us My recollection is that in November(ish) he made it clear to Millwall that as he was approaching the end of his contract, and wasn't playing in the First XI on a regular basis, he would like to move back to towards his roots in South Wales. This alerted quite a number of Football League clubs, and also BRFC as well (it was thought at the time to be a cheeky bid) but Millwall turned down any interest in the player by saying that he was under contract to them until the end of the present 2014-2015 season, and that he would be expected to honour his contract with them. Easter continued at Millwall until January 2015, when Millwall cancelled his contract ''by mutual consent,'' which meant that he was free to join any club that he wished to join. At that point he joined us quite quickly, which indicated to me that he did want to come here, whether it be in January or the close season.
