My belief is that we have recruited well and I'm hoping that we'll see the evidence for that on Friday night and for the rest of the season. Even though promotions for Bristol Rovers have been few and far between, we've got plenty of players and a manager who have enjoyed promotion success - which will count for a lot when it comes down to the wire. If we hit our straps, I think we can take any team apart and I am hopeful that DC will be bold in giving game time to our match winners like Dawson, Easter, Balanta and Harrison. Our recruitment has been fairly high risk. We've spent a decent amount of energy and money (presumably) on Balanta and Easter who clearly have a pedigree that is above this level. However, they are really only available to us because they have had injury problems that have massively stalled their careers. They're modern versions of the Gary Waddock signing. So we have the talent in the building but it's talent that needs to be protected if we're going to get something out of them. I think we've gambled that they would be up to speed for the last 5-6 games of the season - we're about to find out if that was a good call or not. Surely not.

Have we had our purple patch, with Barnet now back on song? NOPE. Are Macc and Grim peaking too early or timing it right? BY PEAKING TOO EARLY, THEIR FORM OVER 8 MATCHES HAS RARELY SURPASSED OURS IN 2015. Have we had our little wobble, and recruited both experience and ability to help us over the line? POSSIBLY. IT'LL BE GOOD MANAGEMENT IF THAT WAS THE CASE. Is it going to come down to bottle, and if so has Daryl got enough in the tank at his still-relatively-tender age? YES, I THINK MENTAL TOUGHNESS AND ATTITUDE PLAY IMPORTANT ROLES THIS STAGE OF SEASON. We have played ourselves into an interesting position. We have persevered and caught up with the front runner without really setting the world alight in performances or scorelines. Conversely, Barnet have crashed out of games conceding 3/4 goals in a match and losing 10 matches already this season. In tune with alot of racing scenarios, it's often a tactic to keep in touch with pacesetters, then make a push towards end of race. The timing is crucial. I would love to see us go for it. Up tempo, plenty of shots and attacking play from the start and a more balanced first team mixed with experience and youth to cope with the pressure. And if it all goes t*ts up, then I guess the playoffs will have to suffice....and we do it all again! Come on, Gas, we can do it!!! Agree 100% One thing I don't want is to play FGR at Wembley with 35,000-40,000 of us and 5,000 of them and lose. We'll never hear the end of it from C*ty fans.

I hope the game against Eastleigh (which if we had won would have put us two points clear of Barnet even with their game in hand) and the first half against Halifax will be the last wobble we have....Come on Rovers, lets get over the line before the last game of the season !!

I feel we need to win all our games, can see Barnet winning the next 6 with a hard draw the last game v a play off chasing Gateshead, them and Eastleigh the best sides we've seen at the mem and maybe they will do us a huge favour with Barnet s**tting it Don't think they will cope with the pressure,Allen will be in a straight jacket by then if we win 6 on trot haha
