Since the debacle against Mansfield I cannot seem to get interested in watching football! Loads of games have been on what with England, Play offs, Cup finals etc but is still painful to watch especially people having success. Is everyone else feeling like this! I love my football but the last few years has taken its toll. I am sure it will return when we get our first fixture away to Alfreton!

Certainly last night did not help the footy "love-in". As for the boys in blue and white it is getting more and more difficult to feel any excitement for the start of the season. I am sure when it all starts it will be better. Hopefully.......!

Higgs, Boycie and Dunford have always got excuses and deliver actually nothing. Clarke with his crying and is vailed promises is failing to sign any quality, when other conference sides are managing to bring in players. The only aspect of the new seson I am looking forward to is going to all the away grounds. My prediction is Higgs will come out and say the club does not have enough money to build the new ground, smith, brown, santos and possibly mildenhall will be off ski, and Clarke will be in excuse mode by the end of august and sacked by the time the christmas decorations come down. UTG

UTG Agree with you. I honestly think that many felt sorry for DC after the final game and the way he handled it, we've put far too much stock in that IMHO and that's not the way to choose a manager of a football club. Well, it might be how Higgs & co worked but you have to take sentiment out of a major decision like a managers appointment. I really feel DC stayed in the job because he was so gutted & upset on the final day. He seems like a really nice bloke, seems to have the right attitude but is he up to doing the job? That should be the only question that needs asking, sadly seems the one question that wasn't really properly considered. That said, I wish him all the very best and hope he succeeds. Trouble is I can't see how he can or will.

I love my football but the last few years has taken its toll. I am sure it will return when we get our first fixture away to Alfreton! I felt like that for a few days Wickwar but now i'm watching the World cup and I even managed an interest in the play offs. I'm at the stage now where i'm kind of hanging about to see what happens at Rovers, but if it transpires we have no UWE,Higgs leaves and we're stuck with effectively the same board I will have no enthusiasm for it.This is how I feel now and this kind of 'not bothered anymore feeling, this non anger, just a realisation and possible acceptance that 'we might be breaking up' shows things are not good.Me and Rovers have had other spells of 'not talking' so i'm not sure how serious I am. This will be abit strange in that I have a season tickect for next season,so they have the money already. If the worst scenario of this current episode (no UWE,eg Dunford Chairman with same board,5th tier) happens I see that as almost as bad as playing in a Prem Reserve Team Division and that will be that for me if that ever happens.

I think it has had the same affect on most people Wickwar.
Look at the England games. I haven't seen a single Rovers flag, banner, shirt or anything. We have always been massively supported at International level, but I expect the general apathy now has spread to that as well.

However I don't think anyone would be up to the job, if good management starts from the top and work it's way down.

I have never had any interest in any other team other than Rovers apart from the Polish national team. I lost interest in them when they were allowed to cherry pick SIX fully Polish born players. When you see the rules bent and twisted to suit those in high places then any logically thinking per so will question that and then their part in actually financing it with our patronage. I think a few are being overly harsh on Daryl Clarke. He was shafted into taking the job that he was not supposed to do until next season and with his own people behind him. Yes, he could have turned the job down but at least he tried his best. This was a tragedy that is solely at the feet of Nick Higgs and John Ward. From what I have been told and in reading in between the lines, it seems that Wardy wanted to go but then got pushed at a time when he least expected it. It's typical Nick Higgs to push it to do it on his terms. It is very refreshing to hear Daryl tell it as it was & how he disagreed with Ward during the pre season about the lack of balance. That he cried is not a call for pity, as I saw it, it seemed to be a howl of sadness because he felt impotent with the players at his disposition but, more importantly, those players lackadaisical attitude. I hope he gets back up and is FULLY supported in his aims. My own personal thoughts, for the record, is that we have a young manager with huge potential. His young age is not a bad thing & he has the knowledge of the league we will compete in plus the latest coaching badges that Ward had no idea of. We have an exciting prospect I feel but we need to quit with the plethora of off field distractions for him to have any chance of success. The UWE, Wycombe and SC need to be handled by people with the expertise to stop it overflowing into the playing side. I think Nick has failed to confront this and it played a massive part in our relegation. I hope to hear of many new players in the coming week. I feel that if we leave it much longer then we could drop lower and even into administration. Make no bones about it, these are very precarious times.

On the contrary I think I see more good football in a day in the World Cup than I saw all season watching Rovers. Highlights so far: Spain vs Netherlands, and Uruguay vs Costa Rica.
As for England.......well yesterday I saw some good pace, good effort, and poor finishing in the final third! I ended up singing "its just like watching the gas, its just like watching the gas" until the Pub Landlord threatened to throw me out!

I have to watch other stuff to understand/remember what football looks like and to get over the disappointment of watching Rovers!

The marking for both goals was schoolboy stuff. No one pushing into the space that allowed the passes. Also remember that Italy are notoriously slow starters in tournament football. Pirlo is such a great and influential play maker. It could have been much worse. I know I am biased but Ricky would have buried the chance Rooney had though I won't hang Rooney out to dry, unlike many, as he is covering so much being playrd out of his natural and most lethal position

Stay calm. This could be an enjoyable league for us. I talk to a regular Telford fan and there is a lot we can get out of this division. In football terms we need to hit the ground running but a lot of the grounds are not that bad. Alfreton might be a little funny because they cage the home fans to stop them from harming the away fans. As I live in Telford I have spoke n to A Telford fan who is a local councillor and he thinks we will get a good reception from the local pubs especially in the older areas like Wellington and Oakengates. If any one needs any info when we play Telford away please feel free to contact me.

Going to stay with a friend in Newport and make a weekend of it (fingers crossed it is a Saturday game).

Since the debacle against Mansfield I cannot seem to get interested in watching football! I could have written that myself. I'm still dreading our next season, when will this feeling of embarrassment go away? In fact I had very little appetite for the football or the World Cup right up to yesterday evening. I've never experienced such a low-key run-up to the competition. Shame really.

Over the next week we may see if the board really are custodians or if they are just in it for what they can get.
