But Martin Allen has been quoted quite recently as saying . . . So there we are then.

After we looked lightweight in midfield on Saturday i think the midfield will be beefed up, and if another player does come in, it could well be a big physical player. I'm glad we have a manager who will play 2 up front every week, so in order to pack more bodies into the middle of the pitch i can see 4-3-1-2 or 3-5-2 being used in the last 8 games.

I agree that it is good that the Manager plays two up front every week but the problem is that he plays three midfield players all of whom sit just in front a very deep lying defence who struggle to find our players with the ball. This starves our attackers of support and opposing Managers know this as we are so predictable. They also know that playing this way Dawson is the ONLY out let and so they mark him very tight like Eastleigh did. We now need DC to be less predictable and go out from the first whistle to win the game.

That's done, the defensive confidence is largely back, so you are quite right that now is the time to open things up a bit. Clarke's signings of the past week, and couple of months, tells me that's what he is trying to do.

Wot - no recipe for world peace, nothing on Clarksongate, no opinion on the latest developments on EastEnders?
I am deeply disappointed.

Especially on Saturday with Halifax being a big, physical, direct side - I can see 3-5-2 being used. _____________Mildenhall____________ ____Trotman___McChrystal___Parkes Leadbitter____________________Brown ________Lines__Lockyer__Mansell ___________Taylor____Easter Not sure where that leaves Dawson, though.

Agree with your selection of Trotman, time for the big man to come back into the team as the way he dominates the aerial battles will be key against Halifax tactics of long balls and long throw ins. Dawson seems much more of a threat when he comes off the bench, i'd rather he made a 25 or 15 minute impact than be anonymous like he was against Eastleigh, 8 good quality sub appearances from him will benefit us more than 4 good starts and 4 poor starts. The same with Harrison, we need gamechangers to come off that bench and either help cement a win or help us chase a game we might be losing in, Balanta & Blissett when Easter is back also gives us very good options.
