Whatever people thought of Lines, remember he was four years younger plying two divisions higher than we are now. Fantastic signing IMO for the level we are at and what we could be next season if we go up. I would really be going for it now and set out to attack these teams
Mildenhall (or Puddy)
Leadbitter Parkes McCrystal Brown
Mansell
Dawson Lines Balanta
Easter Blissett (or Monkhouse)
Subs Taylor Harrison Puddy (or Mildenhall) Blissett (or Monkhouse) Trotman

You'd need Lockyer on the bench as cover.

Halifax are a big physical long ball 3-5-2 team, i'd match there formation and go with :
---------------------------------------------- Puddy ---------------------------------------
------------------------- Lockyer ------------ Macca ------------ Parkes -------------------
----- L'Bitter ----------------------------------------------------------------- Brown -----
--------------------------------- Clarke ------ Manse ------ Lines -------------------------
------------------------------------ Blissett ---------- Taylor ----------------------------
Subs = Mildy, Balanta, Easter, Harrison, Dawson.

I think that the manager may spend quite some time pondering who will play in goal on Saturday. It's a tough one to call, but it will get easier after that one has been decided I'm quite certain. I wouldn't be at all surprised if he decided that it was time for a change, but then again . . .
I suppose on the positive side, at least we have two goalies worthy of a place in the team. It wasn't all that long ago that we seemed to be permanently struggling in that department.

Bar midfield I can't see DC making any major changes following 1 defeat, to suggest he's going to drop Mildenhall after just one mistake is madness, likewise after a lenghty layoff it would be stupid to start Easter, even if he's fit, on a cabbage patch of a pitch, plus we need wingers to use the best part of the pitch.
Mildenhall
Lockyer Parkes McCrystal Brown
Mansell
Dawson Lines Balanta (but probably Monkhouse)
Taylor Blissett

Can't see how anyone can put blisset in for Taylor, the bloke cannot play football and he can't head the ball in the direction he wants Had a mate with me last Saturday that went for the first time and he couldn't believe we paid money for him,you can make excuses for him and say he's not fit but how long does it take to get fit?? Nothing against the bloke and hope he improves but think he will never be a league 2 player and struggles in this league

You'd need Lockyer on the bench as cover. Agree and I also agree that just for the moment, Leadbitter should be picked at RB ahead of Tom. That's no discredit to the lad, who has given everything for Rovers this season, but he's looked like he needed a rest in the last few games.

Seriously, you think we were carrying Lockyer whilst winning 5 games on the trot, the other 10 players must have been playing well! Bearing in mind we haven't lost an away game this season when Lockyer's played DC will be a brave man to drop him.

For me, lee brown doesn't perform best in a wing back position.
I would keep as little change as possible:
Mildy.
Locks...McCrystal...Parkes...Brown.
Leadbitter...Lines...Mansell...Monkey
Blissett...Taylor.
I would use Dawson and Ellis as impact players. It's a team game and everyone has their role to play, an impact player has just as much value and worth in the squad as every other positive influence.
Although I think monkhouse form has been off, his physical influence and experience can count against a strong team in Halifax.
Overall though, am confident we have enough balance, flexibility, diversity and footballing quality in the squad to get something up there. Come on Gas, am looking forward to the challenge and come back from an awful last match to see what we're made of..

Puddy Lockyer Parkes Trotman Brown Mansell Clark Lines Dawson Easter Taylor A team and a formation to beat most in this division Formation maybe about right. Saturday showed we were not using the width and if required could be provided by the fullbacks. Balanta showed we needed someone to control the ball in the middle of the park and make something happen.

I didn't say that we were carrying him, but some of his recent performances have been below his own high standards IMO, whilst I think Leadbitter has done pretty well at RB Lockyer was found wanting for pace against Braintree - admitedly against one of the best individuals we have seen this season. He didn't play well on Saturday either, but who did? With Lines taking up the central midfield slot with Mansell, it is a straight choice of Lockyer or Leadbitter at RB and just at the moment, I would go with Leadbitter. It's good to have competition for places though!

Of course its right, set up to win, which we need to do, not set up to not lose, which is what DC always does and costs us points against inferior opposition

Surely DC's second half substitution shows his thinking, not saying I agreed with it as Leadbitter was one of our better players in the first half. You just sense like Mildenhall, Monkhouse & Taylor DC sees Lockyer as undroppable even when he's not playing at his best,

Puddy Lockyer Parkes Trotman Brown Mansell Clark Lines Dawson Easter Taylor A team and a formation to beat most in this division Bit narrow for playing on a muddy pitch? I was always taught that if the pitch is bad, get it wide

I like the sound of that team,at the end of the day it is the conference so shouldn't need to go too defensive for anyone Would definitely give puddy a go I have always thought mildy is a bit dodgy especially on crosses and positioning of the walls,at fault for both goals at dartford without a doubt

I think Clarke will be a fool and not even start Lines... He has a thing about Lockyer.
