I see that one of our former players has unfortunately died, but to be perfectly honest with you it was a name that I had almost forgotten, partly because he didn't play that many games for us I suppose.
I remember him being signed-up in the early/mid 1960s, and there being great expectations of him as he had a good pedigree, but for whatever reason it didn't seem to work out for him here and he departed after only a handful of games. Can anyone put some more meat on the bones I wonder?
In any event, RIP Roy.

A good left half,played ten games 1n 1965/66. his name will stay with the club forever as he was the clubs first ever nominated subsititute, he was unused as in the first season a sub could only come on for an injury. He left soon after to become player coach at Crawley Town.

we signed him from Norwich city he could play any defensive position was a great team member r i p roy
