sorry to have to do this, but amongst all this positivity I still get extremely sad whenever I see / hear / think about relegation last season on 3rd May 2014. And it crops up at least once a week. Being a Gashead is never exactly easy, but not even being able to even whinge about being in Lge 2, the LDV cup, being knocked out the Lge Cup early, and the cursory 1 minute a week on The FL Show, is soul destroying.
It is like a weeping sore that will not heal. Even with a promotion it would not heal, but at least it will help a bit.
I realise lots of other teams have been relegated into non-lge in their time, but no-one currently in this division has a day like that so fresh in their memory, especially last day of the season, in front of 10,000 home fans. And a club with a latent support of around 35-40,000 people. And without wishing to dwell on the violence before and after the match, and some this season as well, we need to restore our own reputation as well. We don't want to be known as sore losers for ever. Or even potentially sore winners!!
We really must use this to help us get promotion! We really must try to right the internal wrongs of last season.
Darrell and others are righting these wrongs internally (shorter contracts, humility, strength of character, no Turley style crocks) so hopefully the results and our support can help help us externally, on the pitch.
We have a REAL chance to get promoted. We need to be ruthless in trying to finish this job.
Come on.
Please...
Pretty please.

The only game I'm missing from the last 9 is Halifax. Going to all 5 home games, going to Kiddy and Dover, Macclesfield is on TV. So there is a very good chance I will be there if/when we win the league.

I'm not into predicting at what game we'll win the league but I hope to goodness we win it before we get to Dover, don't forget it is still in Barnet's hands to lose it, if they keep winning it doesn't matter what we do, we can't. So lets have a bit more reality applied to our position, it's good but it's not infallible.

It was a shocking day which took a long time to get over. However I'd rather focus my thoughts on the response which thus far has been terrific. If, and it's a very big if, we were to get over the finish line and make it back at the first attempt, it would be a fantastic achievement and would flip the darkest day in our history right on its head. When we do make it back to the Football League, I honestly believe we'll have a momentum and purpose about us which we've lacked so badly over the last few years.

Only one automatic promotion spot requires complete focus on every game compared to 3 up, or 4 as in League 2 where you can toddle along winning a few, drawing a few and losing the odd game and still stay in the automatic promotion frame. If we win today that'll be six in a row and we'll still have to keep winning if Barnet win their game. Statistically it's a massive ask and if they do manage it it'll be a fantastic achievement.

The important thing is we do win it. We must remember it isn't won yet. Barnet have the advantage of a game in hand. I truly believe we have the best squad and best manager in the league so fingers crossed.

Guys you must remember, Barnet's game in hand is at Halifax, who look much better than Barnet. Barnet have some tough games left, more tough games than us. Our only two dangerous games are Halifax & Macc
