Who honestly thinks Clarke will get a creative midfielder who is worthy of the name? We have needed one for months so now our non league manager says he won't be panicked into a loan signing. Give me strength !! Demand better Gas heads we are Bristol Rovers. I have no problem with City fans entering debates on this forum, but pretending to be a gashead is just pathetic in my opinion. Why don't you just join as costalbcfc, your opinion would probably be more respected?

Knowing coastal gas as someone who put Christmas cards with robins on them on the back of the fire, it just shows that the thought police on here cannot accommodate anyone who has a different opinion to themselves. You will suggest burning books next rather than allow anyone to have anything negative to say about dc.
some of us thankfully are more enlightened and give credit if and when it's due and cast alternative views if the occasion demands it.
in this case I agree with coastal gas as the last loan player in as cover for the creatively thin midfield did not get a single minute on the pitch!
hopefully dc will make a better fist of recruitment thus time at a vital point in the season. The memory of Ollie's loan recruitment at the same stage in THAT season is still painful

Can you seriously knock DC's recruitments when we're top of the league?

Actually the chances of DC getting a pretty good midfielder on loan from a higher division are pretty high. What team in the football league wouldn't want one of their fringe players given the experience of playing in a promotion chase, play offs and possibly a Wembley final?

I'm not unduly concerned, even if we don't sign anyone, Mansell picks up a booking and Ollie Clarke isn't back; for me Monkhouse or even Balanta could partner Tom Lockyer in a more advanced CM position. Monkhouse works his guts off in any position he is asked to play and Balanta would offer more in creativity.
In a way it was fortunate that Sinclair and Ollie Clarke got injured when they did, I thought at the Woking match we really struggled without Sinclair and wouldn't be successful without him after that; but we have adapted really well without them! A knee ligament injury to a current important first team regular at this stage could easily derail the promotion bid.

Actually I'm not sure we need a creative midfielder, I reckon Balanta could fill that role if he had a "Frankie Prince" alongside him !
