We need to remind the national media we are the famous Bristol Rovers and the other team across the other side are called Bristol City I have noticed since the rugby came across to the gate they have been referred to as Bristol !!( it happened again on tv on Sunday in the Westham interview referring to injuries against Bristol) Just because we have drifted into the conference dosnt mean we can loose our identity (points west please note and that other so called local channel our games are just as important as Swindon etc and perhaps come and visit us a few times ! )

Both us and 82 are often called just Bristol by both the national media and fans of other clubs. Even the FA got us mixed up in the cup draw once! It's totally and utterly disrespectful. If I ever here anyone call us or 82 Bristol then whoever says it gets put right pretty quickly and sharply but to make myself feel better I have decided to show the Manchester teams the same respect as we are shown by calling them both just Manchester as if I don't really know or care that there is a difference between them.

Reality of being where we are. No one is going to do us any favours-we have to earn back a reputation that we have largely pissed down the drain in the last few years. Can't complain if to the national media we appear to be a minor club and at what point does Points West/Radio Bristol cease to have an obligation to treat us like a major local one? We should think ourselves lucky there's relatively little competition; good luck getting any kind of exposure in Manchester or London if you are a Conference team. It's actually one of the few areas in which we are relatively blessed not hard done by.

Just can't get why any of the so called 'experts', wouldn't refer to us as Rovers or the sheeds as City when going for the short option?

It's not just us: I was listening to 5Live at the weekend when Manchester City were playing Hull City. They kept referring to Manchester City as 'City' and Hull City as 'Hull' in their updates.

Its no wonder that the Hull chairman wanted to drop the name City then is it with this pathetic Manchester sucking up that goes on all the time like they are everyone's local clubs. Yet the media go bonkers at the ruination of our game when Hull wanted to change their name to Tigers, but it is because they disrespect EVERY club called city and united that doesn't come from Manchester that it happens!

Am I the only one who doesn't give a fuuck about this? That's ok as long as Manchester get the same treatment. Does it not irritate you that no one can be bothered to differentiate between us and the s**t as if we are both irrelevant? That the FA put the wrong one of us in the draw or that half bakes like Lincoln turn up in a blue kit because they think we play in red?

That the FA put the wrong one of us in the draw or that half bakes like Lincoln turn up in a blue kit because they think we play in red? Well, they call us everything from Bristol, Rovers, the Gas and Pirates during a commentary. I'd never noticed that other teams don't get the same sort of treatment. Maybe Man U and City are the exceptions coz they are the biggest teams with those names, but pretty sure all other teams get all their names said at some point. Istm, the Sheffield teams are the best comparison, coz they need to be differentiated, too, and I'm pretty sure they get called Sheffield during their matches. Otoh, I've heard people complain that Man U are often called Man U and not the full name Manchester United. But, they, I imagine, are simply being twaats.

Then to top it off, Radio 5 gave air time yesterday to a Leicester supporter who thought that Cotterill was doing a good job with no budget.
