Excellent day out. Great to go to a stadium with passionate fans and a large following. That is the sort of place that we need to play at regularly. The thing is that we are not quite good enough to get there. Bristol were by far the best team I have seen this season in both the home and away games. I really expect them to go straight back into the football league, perhaps as champions or through the play-offs. We were second best yesterday. The Gas players were more technically gifter, more athletic and all round better than ours. A simple statement of fact. I thought we did well to force them to change their style after 20 minutes, stopping them getting the ball out wide and hitting early crosses into the box for Blissett to get on the end of didn't work for them. Sadly for us they had the ability to change their game and become more effective. For us, Hamza was excellent again, Nat Brown was solid, Davies when he came on at half-time looked like a proper full-back but limited going forward, Burrow replaced DSy, who was awful again yesterday, and we looked much better with his movement and he held the ball up well. Farman pulled off some excellent saves and could do nothing about either goal. Adams showed some great touches and worked hard. Nolan did what Nolan does, which is sometimes excellent and sometimes awful. He really needs to man up in the middle. Downside, apart from DSY, was Caprice who was really poor, Marshall who was non-existent and Newton neither defended well nor got forward well either. All in all I think we got a lesson yesterday from a side that was far too good for us in nearly every department. Middle of the table is where we are and I cannot, unfortunately, now see us progressing much higher this term. Just got to keep going and trying.
