... the name of that Lincoln fan who spent most of the summer on here telling us all about life in the conference?
He mostly patronised us at length.
Just wondered, was all.

PompousImp? SanctimoniousImp? Something like that I am fairly sure we are thinking of the same person.

and the point you are making, or trying to make is? He/she just came to mind today was all. I wondered if we'd get an update on our progress. Some views on how it'll go from here etc. We are still very new to the conference. Last summer I appreciated the wisdom and advice. We could use some more I am sure.

Wasn't he the one who warned us about Sainsbury's, comparing us to Southend's attempts to get a new, Sainsbury's, financed stadium? If so, he does seem to have been proven right about both stadium project.

Hence my desire to hear from him again.

He wasn't patronising. He just warned us about the perils of an ex-FL club (sob) expecting to storm the division and how we might find things harder than we'd thought. As the Imps have done. Luckily, we seem to be doing ok.
But I can't remember his name.

Went quiet when we beat them away and haven't returned since. I thought the posts were generally informative, maybe we took them as patronising as we were new to the Conference? Either way, maybe not supporting so much these days?!!

Most of what he said turned out to be true in terms of the league and in terms of how we'd react as fans so I don't really know why he deserves to get stick.
He said - other clubs would be really up for playing us and the smaller sides would not be a walkover as we'd represent one of their biggest of the year so their fans and players would generally be well up for it = correct. He said - referees often favour the smaller club when you're playing at their ground = probably something in that. That as fans we would find it difficult to be patient when not beating the smaller clubs so the atmosphere would be tense and that would transfer to the players = correct. That there are fundamental issues regarding what supermarkets are trying to extract from stadium deals with clubs and that many others have come unstuck = appears to be correct even if it works out OK for us in the end Sainsbury's have not exactly been straight up in their dealings with us.
So I don't really understand what the problem is here.

And said the Conference officials crackdown very quickly on anything they don't like. Have FGR had their 10 point deduction yet from last August?
