From the BBC website:
Meanwhile, Tranmere Rovers have cancelled the contract of striker Eliot Richards by mutual consent after one goal in 16 appearances.
A career which seems to have gone rapidly downhill.

Yeah what a loser playing in a higher league than the majority of our squad have ever played.

A career which seems to have gone rapidly downhill. to be fair the whole Tranmere thing [Gill going there as well, and rapidly becoming a coach] was just (a) weird, and (b) a footballing disaster. Not all his fault. the mgr who brought him and Gill in, and many others, was sacked. That nearly always leads to some problems / fallout.

Assuming they were prepared to offer him a contract he'd have been far better off staying at Exeter, although getting paid a year or two for 6 months work can't be bad? Perhaps he's learnt a thing or two from our ex managers/players?

Absolute fraud.
He'll end up semi-pro soon.

Funnily enough Buckle only started Richards nine times scoring once in his time as Rovers manager bringing in was it something like 21 new players as he did not rate many of those left following Rovers relegation.

I wonder who will go first - Buckle or Richards. This transfer window I think will be the last throw of the dice for Buckle as he doesn't seem to have made a positive impact so far. Not sure I would gamble on Richards scoring the goals to get Cheltenham out of trouble based on his current record

142 league appearances, 22 league goals. All apart from 18 of those appearances were in League Two. All but 1 of the goals were League Two.
Richards has played for Rovers, Exeter and Tranmere. He is 23 (24 in September).
I would suggest that the logical money is on a repeat (or similar) of his previous form but you never know.

ER was the only one getting free kicks and a few penalties in that God awful team. The swap fro Gow was a pivotal move and it backfired spectacularly. Regardless of what we may think of ER, his treatment was appalling and he was actually informed of his departure by Twitter & text. He also very rarely was played in a position where he could do damage. Always liked the guy and he was turning his life around. Still young & could do well. Good luck fella
